Re: Topband: need manual for 'old' MFJ Grandmaster Memory Keyer

2019-03-08 Thread terry burge
WOW. What a response! Thanks a lot guys, I got more copies than I know what to
do with. Now if I can just figure out the programming maybe I can at least get
'KI7M', 'SNN" and 'T U' in the keyer and hook it up to my XCVR. I can still
copy well enough to tell usually when the DX station comes back to my call so
maybe I can send some decent code with this old MFJ-832. Strangely enough MFJ
did not have the manual in their manual so on their webpage. Guess they want to
sell newer stuff.

Try searching Google for *"MFJ-482" "manual"*. I see several potential
sources, one from an eHam post.

Topband: need manual for 'old' MFJ Grandmaster Memory Keyer

2019-03-08 Thread terry burge
Hi folks,

I have searched the web without success for the manual for the MFJ-482 model
Grandmaster memory keyer. Would anyone have a manual they could make a copy of.
I picked this unit up at a local hamfest and don't even know if it will work
but it would be nice if I could get enough programmed in it to work some of the
Dxpeditions and such.

Topband: Remote PC station control

2019-03-08 Thread VE6WZ_Steve
After uploading my YouTube videos about remote RX switching and frequency
dependant TX switching last week, I have received some emails asking about how
the remote station is controlled.

I made a YouTube video that shows what the VE6WZ remote operation looks like
from the operating position, both at home and when travelling using the laptop
or portable device. In the video I talk about the pros-and-cons of controlling
the remote with a PC resident at the remote vs using IP ethernet controllable
devices over the WAN. I hope this video might answer some of those questions.

This may be of interest to someone thinking of building a remote station, or it
might provide some ideas for those that already have a remote set-up.

Topband: A nice grayline app and more

2019-03-08 Thread Dan Maguire via Topband
Marcel De Canck, ON5AU, has recently revised his website: http://on5au.be

This site is a gold mine of information related to antenna modeling and radio
propagation. Much of it free, the remainder very low cost. A few examples:

* Just so you'll know who he is: http://on5au.be/biography.html

* Review by L.B. Cebik (SK) of Marcel's propagation articles:

* His page devoted to grayline: http://on5au.be/Grayzone.html

* Complete set of W4RNL (SK) articles: http://on5au.be/Cebik%20documents.html

* Several animation "wizards" in the form of downloadable, self-contained, exe
mini-programs to show gif animations. For instance:
