Topband: 49/50
Thanks for the online and offline replies to my post over the weekend about searching for WY and NV (as well as AK and HI). Over the weekend, I was able to get WY and NV easily. The QSLs are already through LoTW. On Sunday morning at 7am local time in Madison, WI I went to the shack and found KH6LC calling CQ for the waning hours of the contest. I could him him just fine (clear, but not loud), and got him in the log. It *just* came in on LoTW within the past couple of hours. Happy dance! Now, I have to focus on The Last Frontier (Alaska). Probably won't happen until next winter, though. Ah well. -john W4PAH Madison, WI _ Topband Reflector Archives - http://www.contesting.com/_topband
Topband: WY and NV - got 'em!
Thanks to everyone who responded to my call for help. I was able to locate and work W7SE (WY) this evening using the RBN, and was able to set up a sked over email with N6ET (NV). QSOs are uploaded to LoTW and now I wait. :-) I forgot to mention that all of my QSLs for topband are from LoTW. What a great service that is. Still looking for KL7 and KH6, but I'm happy to have the "easy" ones in the log. Time to improve the RX situation. Ha. Thanks, all! -john W4PAH _ Topband Reflector Archives - http://www.contesting.com/_topband
Topband: 160m WAS (need WY and NV)
Just scanning the band last night on the contest. Heard a fellow whose QRZ.com profile states he's in NV, but he's operating from UT instead. Is anyone on from these states this weekend? I know HI and AK will be tough for me given my current setup, but these two contiguous states are the last ones I have towards WAS on top band. All other contacts have been through casual QSOs and contesting. Thanks, all. -john W4PAH Madison, WI _ Topband Reflector Archives - http://www.contesting.com/_topband
