I heard on 40 or 80 meters last night that John Devoldere had passed away. If
so I'm very sorry to hear about that. I've worked him many times over the
years, have at least two editions of his Low Band DX'ing books, and always
considered his a friend. Last time I worked him was back on 07/07/2019 on 20
meters. Even sent him an email asking about something but did not hear back
from him that time.

RIP John, you'll be missed.

Topband: Audio request

2019-12-02 Thread Nodir Tursun-Zade
Hi,

I am looking for 160 m audio clips of VP6R and pile ups. I plan to make
video footage but we didn't do any recordings from our side.

Appreciate if someone can share. Please contact me off reflector.

Thank you!

Topband: VP6R

2019-10-27 Thread Nodir Tursun-Zade
Hi,

We plan one more night to be active on CW. We already retuned vertical back to
Cw part and start about 0245Z. Next night or two will be FT8 activation. There
is still chance of some CW but we are looking for good weather window to put
Topband vertical down (starting Wed). If forecast is good we might keep it till
Friday.

We aware of high demand especially in EU and trying to maximize our efforts.

I am using one from RA6LBS. He has very nice push button BV selector.

Or you can try simple version.

Good luck!

Re: Topband: TI9/3Z9DX

2015-02-19 Thread Nodir Tursun-Zade
Band was really nice last night. Worked TI9 from balck hole Asia location.
Before this I was able to log few US stations. First time after 2013
opennings.

Navassa K1N was audible almost daily on my SR peak. But KP1 has way better
heading than polar TI9 and US.

Condx got better.

TI9 had a super signal on 160 last nite, before my sunset he was 579 and
peaked over
599 at sunset, of course EU only, and he was working them at a good
clip. Good to see

Re: Topband: K1N what time are they QRV on top?

2015-02-06 Thread Nodir Tursun-Zade

Thanks Herb!

I am pilot for Asia myself. :) Guys on Island doing their best! I am sure
they will start lsn to Asia and Europe soon. We can't dream for better
Topband team which is the island now.

We just hope that 160 m will be as good as today in following days! I can
copy them daily 0200-0230Z when they are ON. But today their signal was very
special.

Nodir, Don't forget to let one of the pilots know of your TB reception
from EY8 and your limited window

.
Tony, K2SG is very helpful as I am trying to get their attention on 28 Mhz
backscatter which is a significant challenge. We are only 700 miles apart
and skip will not do it but backscatter might as I was hearing K1N 559 by
beaming to SA on 10 but of course I have no chance with the huge 40 over
pile ups this way.

No not tonight but I worked them on their first night on 160 and again
this morning when they were making many lonely CQ's. I was able to sign
KV4FZ/QRP and they came right back. My point here is if they can hear 1
watt at about 700 miles on TB they are hearing very well in spite of the
QRN and have a superb setup on 160 meters.
