Correct Jamie. That is apparently the current info.

Any prior posts about a December 15th sailing deadline were moot months
ago and apparently have since been altered/removed.

Both DX News and DX Maps have removed any references to a December 15th
sailing date.

There is no date for if/when they are sailing to 3Y0I.

Hi Jim,

I google searched again for 3Y0I - and none of the announcements (Dec
1, Aug 19 and Aug 18) on DX News and DX maps and other sites said
anything about a Dec 15, 2021 date.

The only place that I can find the information about a Dec. 15, 2021
date that you cite is from an an archived April 9th post on 425.

Can you provide the link to the information that you cited?

Hi,

I have never been much of a contester nor 'rabid' DXer. On my small lot
with modest antennae I don't stand any chance at all putting a QSO with
this station in the log. I am going to try and at least hear them. The
conditions I live with make an SWL log for them an accomplishment if I
can do even that much. I will be watching here for more info as the
expedition progresses.

Hi Jim,

Can you please post a link to the announcement that they are leaving for
3Y0I in two days? (Dec. 15) Their December 1 posting on DX World
indicates that Fiji is open but does not say anything about a date when
they are leaving for 3Y0.

3YØI POSTPONED

And yet! The captain of the MV Atlantic Tuna had to take a difficult but
responsible decision to take a course back to Cape Town, South Africa. But the
3YØI Expedition is NOT cancelled – we don’t give up that easily

I just had a long conversation with Dom 3Z9DX on board on the MV Atlantic Tuna.
The seas calmed down enough to let them do a proper technical inspection of
damages caused by the severe cyclonic storm last night. Here are more details
on the latest dramatic events.

Topband: 3Y0I team riding out a severe storm

2019-03-26 Thread donovanf
Update: 0355Z March 27, 2019. We have communicated with
our Rebel Pilot Andre (V51B) who Dom called just minutes ago
via the Atlantic Tuna’s satellite phone. The 3Y0I Team and Crew
of the Atlantic Tuna are OK. They have turned the ship with the
winds to the east and are riding out a severe storm. Absolutely
terrible conditions at the moment. There is hope that calm skies
are a few hours away. Operating the radios during the turbulent
sea is impossible. We expect another update 12 hours from now.

36 N-miles in 5.5 hrs = 6.5 kts pretty good to hold it that low if as
reported 51 mph wind to 100 gusts. Enough speed to preserve steerage
but as little as possible to minimize distance lost.

Seems that the Captain knows what he is doing.
