Topband: October 2015 - Topband PreStew Results
The results for the PreStew are now fully cooked and available for viewing at http://www.kkn.net/stew/2015_PreStew.txt. Congratulations to Herb, KV4FZ for posting the highest score using the high power category. Eric, NO3M did a fine job using low power and a bug to top the low power scores and Jim, K9JWV had the highest QRP score. Many multi-operator entries were entered - probably because they properly read rule 6 - and congrats to the gang at LY7M for winning the multi-op high power category and PA0O who won the multi-op low power category. OL1A managed to make 80 QSOs to win the multi-op QRP category. Activity was very strong for this event with 210 logs submitted and over 500 stations active. This bodes well for the "big" Stew which is coming up on December 26th/27th. Conditions on topband have been pretty encouraging so far this season - so circle that date on your kitchen calendar so you can enjoy the fun. The plaques for the 2014 event will be shipping soon. Now is the time to think about which plaques you would like to see sponsored for the 2015 event. Our plaque meister - W7EW - will be refining his epistlemological methods to encourage you to join the hoard of sponsors soon. If you would like to avoid the rush - you can contact him directly at w...@arrl.org. Rules and other information are available at www.kkn.net/stew. 73 Tree N6TR _ Topband Reflector Archives - http://www.contesting.com/_topband

Re: Topband: PreStew results
Hi, My only (50+ year old) top band transmitter quit (again) right at the beginning of the Stew. Before I repair it yet again I think I will just build something *new* in hopes of having it work for a while. 73, Bill KU8H On Sun, 2012-10-21 at 20:08 -0700, Tree wrote: > The results for the Stew Perry Warmup are now posted. > > Yes - the contest has only finished 12 hours ago - but we have received > almost 100 logs already. > > As more logs come in - they results will be updated. > > Go to http://www.kkn.net/stew and click on the link for the PreStew results. > > If you haven't sent in your log - please do so via e-mail to > t...@contesting.com. > > 73 Tree N6TR ___ Topband reflector - topband@contesting.com

Re: Topband: PreStew Results
It turns out that W6XR reversed the "F" and "N" on WA8GBB's grid square and made it NF31 - which would be somewhere in the South Indian Ocean. Since nobody else worked WA8GBB, this error was not detected by the software and I didn't take the time to find this myself. I'll fix this and re-post the results - thanks for noticing it.
