Hello Frank,

You have every reason in the world to wonder ! HII just read the
article and too many details dont make sense. Just " frozen ground". This
was supposed to be at sea level where the ground never freezes. Going
ashore in a lifeboat - just cannot be done. BUT , at the time the island
was virtually " terra incognito", untill NPI did a very thorough survey
some years later , when 3Y1VC and 3Y5DQ were there.
Today we have detailed maps and a lot of data, including WX from a unmanned
WX-stn.

Hello Rag,

I always wondered about Gus Browning's LH4C DXpedition, and the
accuracy of this article, given the extreme difficulty of landing on
Bouvet.

Hello Frank,

My first QSO with Don Miller was in 1959.
I was in the Army in Ansbach, Germany. My call was DL4SH and I worked Don
on 15 CW. He was WN9WNV on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. I think I have his
QSL, if I look a bit. If I find it, I will post it.
I had a private DL call and it cost me $0.75 a month. I made $100.00 a month in
the Army.
