 FWIW: In case you are seeing crashes when playing e.g. Youtube videos with
 10.13, we plan to fix those with the update to Firefox 52.4.1esr next
 week. There are a bunch of sandbox changes that were needed for the new
 macOS version that got backported to the ESR branch.

 On my iOS device, when I type a field name in the Atlas search bar, it
 capitalises the first letter. For example: "Contact:teor".

 We should stop rejecting queries like this as malformed.

 If you're installing over a previous restartless version (5.1.x) that's
 normal, noisy but no side effect, and nothing we can't do about it because
 those messages are from the previous instance. It shouldn't happen for new
 installations and/or upgrading / disabling+enabling over 5.1.2rc3 and
 above.

 And the icon is still jumping to the right. Any idea why this one in
 particular is happening?

 Again, if the icon has already "jumped" on the right there's nothing to do
 about it, because you cannot tell whether it happened because of a
 previous restartless version or becuase the user customized the position
 manually.

 However it should not change the icon position from where it's found
 initially (e.g. if you install on a fresh Tor Browser it should stay on
 the left).

 When I was updating from 7.0.5 to 7.0.6, Tor Browser 7.0.5 crashed.
 I am running macOS 10.12.6 on WMWare.
 I have a snapshot, so I may be able to reproduce this (but I haven't
 tried).

 But that's what I did:

 1) Extract a clean Tor Browser 7.5a5
 2) Copy NoScript 5.1.2rc2 over the NoScript we ship
 3) Start the browser, the icon is on the left side
 4) Check for NoScript updates and 5.1.2r3 gets installed and the icon
 jumps to the right

 I suppose you're doing this, rather than updating directly from a non-
 restartless version (like the ones you currently ship) to check whether
 updating restartless to restartless makes the icon jump nevertheless.
 However, since rc2 interferes with the previous icon placement in a way
 rc3 doesn't, whether the effect is visible or not, I'd rather try to
 update from rc3 to rc4 (about to be released) to tell if the bug needs
 more work or not.

 I don't think it's a real problem, console noise aside, but if you want it
 to be fixed anyway you must do it on your side: on initialization NoScript
 might cause preference observers to be called at a moment when
 noscriptOverlay does not exist yet: this means you must check for
 win.noscriptOverlay existence before referencing it.

 I assume "Trap Number" refers to a signal. If that is true, then it looks
 like a SIGALRM caused the thread named "Shutdow~minator" to exit (that
 thread name must be truncated). I know that Firefox had problems with the
 firefox binary not exiting quickly enough after an update was staged and
 the user requested a restart, so I suspect this is related. This code
 looks like the culprit:

 Do you know what was happening right before the crash? Had you requested
 the restart, and is it possible it took more than a minute for firefox to
 exit?

 compared to 0.3.0. It's true this relay's bottleneck is the bandwidth
 because it's capped, but there is no big difference in terms of CPU %
 usage per tor user / process as opposite to 0.3.0 - it's still around 9% -
 20% with very small period bursts to even 98%.

 This happens due to a race between the time bootstrapping completes and
 the closing of the progress window (Tor Launcher adds a 250ms delay after
 bootstrapping completes before it closes the progress dialog; that is done
 so that a progress bar that shows 100% will be displayed). The reason you
 see "Tor is not working" is because while the progress window is waiting
 in the 250ms delay before it closes, one of your clicks on "Open Settings"
 registers and causes or Launcher to disable networking (which of course
 means no working Tor).

 We just fixed a similar problem recently as part of our work on #23262, so
 I am not sure what to do with this ticket. We could backport the fix to
 7.0.X or 7.5aX, but this problem doesn't seem super-critical to me.

 moderately improves CPU"

 We have discussed in the Metrics team a possible future goal of curating a
 collection of papers and datasets specifically relating to the deployed
 public Tor network. This would look to be a subset of anonbib. I don't
 have the time to dive into this just now, but perhaps this is useful in
 considering the future of anonbib.

 spec patch] from #18329 which should be usable to implement this.  It's
 not live in Tor yet, since #18329 is waiting (among other things) for it
 to be parseable by BridgeDB (and hence Stem), before merging it since it
 would be bad if operators thought their bridge was private and it wasn't
 actually respected.

 I have created a first test for a CI job that build the newsletter static
 pages + rss feed.

 I am attaching the patch to this ticket.

 Also we will need to have the assets folder available for the static pages
 as well. So that it is possible to access compiled css and js from the
 rails app.

 Note that for the time being I am using the http auth password in the
 build script. We will have to change these afterward and use variables.

 Also what is missing is a general clean up of generated files once the
 script runs. But since the idea of this first patch is to get a general
 opinion on how to do this, I thought it was ok to improve the script
 later.

 Please let me know your opinion on this.

 With this patch we are linking ligcrypt and libgpg-error statically in
 libotr.

 After doing a build with this patch,
 `./TorBrowser/Data/Browser/profile.default/extensions/ctypes-
 otr@tormessenger/chrome/content/libotr.so` does not have a `RPATH`
 anymore.
