[tor-talk] Tor Browser language
Hi, Yesterday I had Tor Browser updated to 5.0.3. Since this version, my Firefox interface is in English. I agree to ask for English only when getting a web page, but how can I have Firefox on Tor Browser interface back in my language? Tor Browser settings (for security and tor) are still in French, only Firefox is in English now. Thanks and best regards. -- Patrick ZAJDA -- tor-talk mailing list - tor-talk@lists.torproject.org To unsubscribe or change other settings go to https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
Re: [tor-talk] Tor Browser language
Hi again, Strange, the interface has switched back to my language by itself... Does someone have the same problem? I am on Windows 7 64-bits. [tor-talk] Unable to set master password in tor browser
Hi all, I am blind and have to use a Firefox module to solve captchas. The problem is as follow: to use it, I have an account and have to use Firefox password reccording to log me in to this service. I though it was optional to set a master password, but it seems it is not the case with the Tor Browser because when I want to log me in, I have the dialog box to set my password. But when I try to set it, when I type it, confirm it then click OK, I have a dialog box indicating the password couldn't be set. If I press Cancel, I cannot log in. Is it a known bug? Is there a solution? Thanks in advance for the help. -- Patrick ZAJDA -- tor-talk mailing list - tor-talk@lists.torproject.org To unsubscribe or change other settings go to https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
Re: [tor-talk] Unable to set master password in tor browser
Hi Matt, Thanks for your answer. I suppose there is an opened ticket about this, do you have the address? Else I'll look for it latter. Thanks, Patrick Le 30/06/2015 16:57, Speak Freely a écrit : Hi Patrick, It does appear to be a known bug, but I don't know the status of it, nor a solution. Hopefully someone else will be able to provide more insight. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Re: [tor-talk] Another incompetent hosting provider, Online.net
Hi, I asked them by opening a support ticket ans I hadn't the same answer. The person who replied just noticed me to be prepared in the case of investigation, not instating me not to do it. For relay, he told me there were no problem, still better than OVH who stop servers for strange reasons, don't allow any tor, but if we look at French spam/fishing headers, they come from OVH and they take a long time to treat abuse requests ;) I have set a relay on my Dedibox without any problem for some months now. Patrick Le 14/07/2014 23:29, Michael Ball a écrit : Asked a simple question on Online.net's hosting forum about whether or not they permit Tor relays and exits. Administrator of the forum (co/vice-CTO of the company) replies with this: (source http://forum.online.net/index.php?/topic/4642-do-you-allow-tor/?p=24618 ) 99% of its [Tor's] traffic is still pedopornography and piratery, so morally we thinks it's a bad thing to use (you don't promote freedom of expression to the cost of other freedoms and safety, especially in regards to children...) Yeah, um, I use Tor every day for everything (same with most of you) and I'm sure a large majority of us don't download kiddy porn. p2p is disabled by default and torrenting/pirating media does not account for 99% of Tor network traffic. also police will probably ask us to lock your server for prosecutions within a week this happens all the time (and it is very boring for you and us) Online.net is based in France, and I'm pretty sure that nobody in France has been locked up for running a Tor node. I should also show you (but sadly I am of course not allowed to...) some of the pics we get with autorities requests, not very fun to see pictures of kids abused every day you know... (yes, we do receive such requests -daily-) I laugh. Authorities aren't supposed to be able to show you the photos they've found to make a request to take down a box, am I right? I thought that went to a judge/court to get a legal order. PS: you should also expect a lot of incoming DDoS on your box ... (one DDoS out of three these days are going to a ToR node ...) ...but, your service absorbs all DDoS?!?! how is this an issue?!!?! tl;dr i don't suggest using online.net for hosting tor exits. maybe relays. -- Patrick ZAJDA Skype : gansta93 -- tor-talk mailing list - tor-talk@lists.torproject.org To unsubscribe or change other settings go to https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk

Is tor disabled for others connections than wi-fi and USB when tethering Tor is enabled? Not intentionally... does it block your phone's normal traffic, or does it just not route it through Tor? It blocks all traffic. For example, check.torproject.org doesn't work at all, no connection is established. Or is it because it tryes to use wi-fi to connect so I should only use other connection than wi-fi? Well that might be - you can use 3G on your phone still through Tor, ideally, while other devices connect to your Wifi-tether, which is also sent through Tor. So I'll disable it and re-enable it when really necessary and will use 3G for others apps when it is enabled. I though I could enable this option and use Tor as usual with the phone too. But maybe I made a bad supposition? In theory, but it starts to get pretty complicated with all the iptables rules. We also have not done indepth testing of TransProxy+Tethering on 4.4. We can take a better look in our next testing go around. I'll be happy to test if if you want some testers on Android 4.4. I know python-pyptlib is available on backports, but no backports exist for Raspbian. python-pyptlib and obfsproxy are both “Arch: all” packages and should be usable directly on Raspbian. OK, thanks for clarifying this. So on a Raspberry Pi Tor has to be compiled (using apt-get source tor etc), and obfsproxy can be installed using sudo apt-get install obfsproxy. I finally chose to use pip install obfsproxy even if installing it using sudo apt-get install obfsproxy is easier and quicker, to have scramblesuit features. I did: sudo apt-get install python-pip sudo pip install obfsproxy --upgrade And set my torc file successfully. Hey, I was just wondering, which version of Tor are you using? If you are using a version older than 0.2.5.1, then scramblesuit will not work properly. Please upgrade to tor-0.2.5.1 if you can, by using the latest git master. :) Oops, thank you. I re-compiled tor from the repos indicated by Lunar on tor-relays list: http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org tor-nightly-master-wheezy main No I have Tor version 0.2.5.1-alpha-dev (git-2c0088b8aa360c8d+96972c4).
