[tor-talk] Azureus cannot work with Tor
Greetings, I'm a newbie trying to setup a working Azureus (aka Vuze)-Tor pair. Unfortunately,I cannot achieve that. Reading the documentation and searching the Internet did not help. Here is what I have: ALT Linux 4.1 Tor v0.2.2.35 built from sources Azureus 3.0.4.2 $ cat /opt/tor/etc/tor/torrc SafeLogging 0 The TOR log is attached Can anybody help? Not to hijack a post - but I had some related questions around this link/post. Does this advice apply if your torrent client can and does use a proxy properly? If so, why? Does this advice apply if your OS is able to use a system proxy to route all traffic through the proxy? If so, why? If the answer to either of these is that the tor proxy only proxies TCP traffic, does the answer change if you use a VPN? Thanks. That's also true, I believe, if one runs a torrent client (or whatever) on a VM that connects only through a TCP-based VPN service (anonymous, paid with mailed cash) which connects through Tor. The VPN will handle all traffic from the VM, whether it's TCP, UDP or whatever. That's not the case if one routes Tor through a VPN, by the way. However, one can use VPNs on both ends of Tor, without much additional penalty. But I can't imagine why anyone would want to torrent through such a kludge.
