same thing happened to me, i had inadvertently fiddled with the settings look in web settings under the player tab for "Play Other Songs In Album When you select a single song and press PLAY on the remote, while browsing albums or folders, you can choose to play just that song or all the songs in that album or directory, starting with that song." If you're using Browse Music Folder, that, by design, does NOT use tags, rather it uses filenames. The reason is that usually the firmware for the device (eg, Touch and Controller) is updated at the same time as the server software. And mysb.com will generally be running the latest release of the server software. So if you don't update your local SBS then you'll get the flipflopping of firmware updates/downdates. Everything is tagged OK AFAIK. Been using SB2 & SB3 for ages & not been a problem before. Bit stumped at mo! Haven't finished moving my SB2 & 3 around yet, but I'll plug them back in tomorrow & make sure albums are still playing in correct order through them! Just got myself a Touch to add to the SB2, SB3 & Controller. When I played a few albums ... they play in alphabetical order rather than track order. It's getting a bit late ...but I can't think of a reason why this should be at the moment. Can anyone suggest what setting / parameter / setup option I have wrong? [SlimDevices: Touch] Stops at end of song
Hi, I'm a new Squeezebox Touch user. I've had mine for 3 or 4 days. One problem that I've experienced often is that certain albums will stop at the end of each song. I'm using iPeng as a controller, and if I hit the next song, play will continue, but if not, there is silence. Is there a fix for this issue? In case it matters, Squeezebox Server has read files from my iTunes library (on a Macbook Pro) and the hard drive is attached to my Airport Express. Most of my files are ALAC. I have the same issue with Touch & Controller! Am running 7.5.0 under XP on my server. Every time I switch from squeezebox.com back / to MyMusic on either device wants to upgrade software Bit of a pain. Kuja, Be aware that having both the Touch (server) and the SB3 (client) connected to a wireless network (through router) may not be performing very well. It'll all depend on how far both units are from the router, how many of your neighbours also have their wireless network (causing interferences), and how heavy your music files are. It could work perfectly, but it could also lead to constant rebufferings ruining your listening. Just a small point. I just replaced an older SB3 with a TOUCH. With the SB3 sitting just next to a small AM/FM radio, the interference caused by the SB3 powersupply made even strong FM radio signals impossible to listen to. With the new TOUCH in same location, there is no interference with the FM station. p.s., yes, I know...with the SB player I don't need no stinkin' FM radio. Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this. The standard ALSA functions for turning a device off have nothing in them. The function header is there but no code inside. I ran across a comment in a patch file that says that the only way to turn off the S/PDIF is to change the clock select register to point to a clock input that doesn't exist. I haven't found this implemented yet. The best way would be to implement this function and export it in the "/sys" area, but this is definitely a change in the firmware that can't be done in the field. Yeah, not holding my breath on this. I did enquire a few weeks back as to status but no response to date.
