I respectfully disagree on the sampling issue. Try the 24/96 version of HDTracks Steely Dan "Gaucho" compared to the vinyl or CD versions. Vinyl sounded better but neither was quite right. I think it was early digital. If someone wants to write some applications that use the low level interface they can. So if you want to use RAW you either have to talk to the low level interface or get the higher level interface rewritten to include RAW. Go ahead and try it out, but recognize that the chain you describe is the "audio pathway" in only the loosest sense of the term. It seems that the OP is connecting his Touch directly to his (wife's) Netbook via a piece of ethernet cable. I thought SB devices had to go via a router? Touch>router>server Is this assumption incorrect and you can use the Touch connected directly to server running SBS? And then can you connect from server to the internet for Spotify etc and get this to work on Touch? Hi folks. Just to mention it. Phil did some measurements recently, to prove the relevance of my toolbox. 'Phils soundcheck's-Touch-Toolbox-2.0 measurements' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=610116&postcount=329) He figured that my WLAN OFF mod caused one of the biggest impact of all my mods he was able to apply. No further comment from my side - on the subject "SBT wireless vs. wired". You'll find my currently preferred solution on my blog. Though watch out: "Any wired setup does not equal any other wired setup either."
