Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Squeezebox Touch and Power Switch II ?
Can't this kind of " kettle lead" be had from pretty much anywhere , I think I've thrown away this typical uk plug and iec end kind of cable on several occasions ? I contacted Conrad and they replied very promptly: "We do not provide a 3 pin unit. We do however supply 3 pin adaptors with every order." I had already had a look on Farnell's website but to be honest I often have trouble finding anything on there ;-) Thinking a little more about it I suppose I'd just cut the live cable in a 3 pin UK/IEC lead, put the SSR/fuse inline and then make it into a capitive lead to/from my enclosure. Anyway, I'm not sure when I'll get round to it but thanks for posting details as it looks like a nice little project. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Announce: Enhanced Digital Output app - USB Dac and 192k Digital Ouput
Hi Triode, I recently acquired a DAC that says - any device that supports USB audio class 2.0 specifications could work with this DAC. I am not getting any music out of it though, but my SBT could detect the DAC at the Digital output, and it says: USB -Audio - XXX USB Audio 2.0[info] > Status: Stop Speed: High Connection: Direct Type: Asyn Format: S32_LE Rates: 44100192000 Does it mean the DAC doesn't support SBT EDO? Perhap there is a way to toggle the status to "Go"? Thanks! I guess it is called something like power supply enclosures. Below is a link to Conrad but these enclosures seem to have Euorpean style connectors. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Missing Album Artwork - Sort of!
Have now submitted a bug! http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=18028 It would be interesting to find out at which version this bug was introduced! I have a friend who does not see this on LMS 7.5.1, but I don't know how many versions past this it was OK up till! greenparent's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20278 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97769 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

I might wait for these > Olive One devices. I feel your pain... I remember the earlier days of MSB and SB Radio instability ("disco heart-attack" became a very regular alarm sound). Even now I still find some things don't play and it's not obvious to me why (not being an audio formats expert). My house has thick stone walls so I haven't tried using wireless very much as I know it's a battle I would use. I agree that a NAS a more expensive approach (although probably not if you compare to Sonos) but I think it does solve some of stability problems. I, like probably most others, use my NAS for other things too - backups, photo storage, media (I can stream music/photos to my TV via DLNA though it's a bit clunky) etc, so don't need to justify its cost just for Squeezebox. I did start with cheap ($150) single disk Buffalo LinkStations which, with software called SSODS, will run LMS - however it's not an officially supported configuration so expect to spend time on the forums. Most recently, because I'm using my NAS for more things these days, I upgraded to a Synology with 2*3TB disks (mirrored) - Synology seems to be the Mercedes of home NAS. NETGEAR have some NAS models too which have a LMS package pre-built by Logitech and are probably somewhere between the LinkStation and the Synology in price (generalisation - depends on model). Alternatively a good compromise might be to buy a second-hand NAS for, say, $100 that with a bit of effort would run LMS. Coming back to your SB Touch - it probably depends on how much time you want to spend on it. It sounds like it should work but looking at other posts there are several factors that seem to stretch it such as types of tags (not an area I really understand yet), artwork, library size, connected devices and so on. Yesterday I read this post: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?82070-Touch-with-USB-drive-mastering-TinySB which you've probably seen where Jean2 seems to have had good success with it (though I noticed they don't have multiple players). I suspect it will be a process of trial and error - e.g. I'd suggest trying a different USB disk or maybe a newish SD card instead (in case it's related to power supply issues). I don't know if it could be ISP related too - I think my SBR became more reliable after I'd switched to a different provider (though it could also have been improvements by Logitech to MSB.com). As to the future of Squeezebox - who knows. There is a strong community, and SB are selling on Fleabay for very high prices at the moment, but maybe in a year or two when some shiny new products are out Squeezebox support will fade away. Personally I'm hoping for a few more years out of my setup yet (I might even look at building a player from a Raspberry Pi and DAC). Good luck. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Missing Album Artwork - Sort of!
OK, I can confirm that behavior, it's the same here. I'd guess there's something wrong with these menus. All "My Music->Artists->" menus don't show artwork when used with the IR remote with the exception of "My Music->Artists->Various Artists". I'd file a bug and post it here, too. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97769 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
