[SlimDevices: Touch] Should I rescan my music?
I recently had to do a system restore from a system image. I have about 825 albums in my music folder. I think I should rescan. But, I want to make sure that I get exactly what is in my music folder. Are there any settings I should check to make sure all my files/folders are scanned? Right now I have some errors showing up on my media Server. For example some albums have the wrong song in an album/folder. Also, some albums/folders are missing songs that no matter what I try, I cannot get to show in the Media Server. How long would it take to delete the old files and 'rescan everything'? Not too long - guessing a few hours at most. If there have been many changes you're probably better off stopping LMS, deleting the database files and restarting LMS to trigger a rescan. digital groove | 'Vivere DAC MKI' (http://vivereaudio.com/post/2013/08/16/DAC-I-is-Born!.aspx) | 'ATC SCA2' (http://www.atcloudspeakers.co.uk/hi-fi/electronics/source-pre-amplifiers/sca2/) | 'ATC SCM100ASLT' (http://www.atcloudspeakers.co.uk/hi-fi/loudspeakers/tower-series/scm100aslt/) *'Linux finally gets a great audio tagger' (http://www.ubuntugeek.com/linux-finally-gets-a-great-audio-tagger.html): 'puddletag' (http://puddletag.sourceforge.net/)* - now packaged in most Linux distributions. audiomuze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33613 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100221 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Hi DMH wrote: But, I want to make sure that I get exactly what is in my music folder. - which OS ? DMH wrote: Are there any settings I should check to make sure all my files/folders are scanned? In my opinion you 1st had to fix the tags and after that scan them. DMH wrote: How long would it take to delete the old files and 'rescan everything'? Thats a good question the Answer depend on how fast is your LMS Server - how the Files are connected to the Server - and what kind of Files to scan. But if you spend some time to tag your lib the more fun you get out of it.:cool: Gruss Jan DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100221 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
