Thanks for your reply. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] SBT and the new NAS
1. LMS has settings . Did you choose a music folder for LMS where your actual music is ? Did you enter your mysqueezebox.com credentials into LMS otherwise it won't fetch your apps or all radio menus ( who really comes from mysqueezebox.com even if you use the local LMS ) Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. [SlimDevices: Touch] SBT and the new NAS
I am a complete idiot to NAS, used SBT with Synology NAS DJ109+ (2nd hand & set up by the seller) only to stream songs from NAS to SBT. Both were in a network and worked fine. 109+ was dead and replaced with a DS114. Not sure if anything missed in the setup of the new NAS, the SBT has option as before to choose which library to connect: diskstation and SBT-SD card. But further drill down to the diskstation, there is nothing there. The NAS is mapped into a fixed ip while SBT’s ip is using dhcp from the router. Using my mobile app DS audio can play the songs in the NAS, but that the option to output it via the SBT (--->DDC--->preamp) is no longer available. Other incidients from my poor memory (as I am getting confused):- 1. If I start LMS(Logitech Media Server) in the NAS, then the SBT cannot connect to mysqueezebox.com server and my favourite(like sky.fm radio) inside is all gone and SBT cannot even load 3rd party apps . And the SBT can be connected to the NAS (diskstation) but no songs available. Songs stored in NAS can still be accessed with mobils app DS Aduio but only can be played in the mobile and could not be played via SBT. 2. If disable LMS in NAS, above problems disappeared (favourite came back, 3 rd party apps can be installed )but that the SBT could not connect to the NAS (diskstation). Not sure if the newly installed DSM 5.0-4493 is the culprit (previous DJ109+ used DSM 4.0) or there is some setting need to be done in the NAS. Hope I describe my problem correctly and apprecaite any suggestion, thanks. rklpoon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=60647 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101685 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] SBT digital out to B&K Reference 31
Ouch you are using the Touch itself as a server . HD tracks 24/96 should play just fine which format did you buy ? Try flac if wav does not work . Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] SBT digital out to B&K Reference 31
Thanks Stratmangler and Mnyb. I ended up resetting the Squeezebox Touch (by accident, truth be told). When it came back up it would play flacs I had ripped from CD (16 bit, 44.1kHz) and some 24 bit, 48kHz flacs from archive.org. But it won't play any of the 24 bit, 96kHz from HD Tracks and archive.org. These are playing at the Squeezebox headphone jack, but Ref31 doesn't seem to be doing anything with them. The Ref 31 is supposed to recognize 24/96 files. Under Features in the manual it says "96/24 bit processing - 96/24 bit digital data and analog source material use 96 kHz, 24 bit DSP processing during all stereo listening modes." It would be really nice to hear these tracks with the B&K DACs. I got some more research to do. I'm pretty certain that the problem lies with the B&K Ref31. But there is the possibility that a setting in Logitech Music Server could be the solution. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] SBT digital out to B&K Reference 31
Could be but : Most DVD bluerays do output 24bit on occasion but possibly onöly 16bit when playing CD . The 24bit output format is backward compatible with 18 and 16 bit DAC's an olde rDAc just ignore the 8 extra bits which would just be padded zeros with squeezebox at full volume. Suggestion make sure the squeezebox volume is 100% and that all smartgain is turned of , and try again with a strictly 16/44.1 file . File format per se does not matter its possibly bits and sample frequency . It's a bit mysterious : The BK should support 24bit ? If it does not it should not matter Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] SBT digital out to B&K Reference 31
AFAIK the Squeezebox Touch puts out a 24 bit data stream into an external DAC. With DVD players you get a 20bit data stream, so your problem might be that the Reference 31 just can't handle 24 bit streams http://en.wikipedia.org/?title=S/PDIF Chris :) Stratmangler's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20387 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101676 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
