Correction: it worked like a charm until I shut down the laptop I use for my LMS server NOW it brings up playlists on the Touch, but then messages pop up that connection was reset by host and tracks say 'stopped'. Ok, I feel stupid. Between Googling things and going back to a thread I started TWO YEARS ago, I figured it out. I DID download the plugin, but never put in my Spotify username and password! I also needed to refresh LMS on the laptop I am using. Once I did both of those things, it worked like a charm. [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch disconnects from music source
I have been experiencing an ongoing issue where after a period of idle time, my touch becomes disconnected from my music library. In order to reconnect I need to power the touch off and on, wait a couple of music then using iPeng I have to drag and drop the touch to my music on the multi player control screen. My Duet remains connected. I am running Yosemite on my iMac, and run both Squeezeboxes wirelessly. Yes, i did install it on the LMS on the laptop I use with the Squeezebox. So after that, i go to those settings on the touch itself and finish setup? [SlimDevices: Touch] How to set up a Touch without a working screen
Hi, my Touch is only partly alive (see the thread Help - killed my
Touch? No screen or seen !!).
I understand that it might however still function without the screen
("headless") but the difficulty is the initial start-up routine.
With a duet receiver this routine is initiated by pushing the button on
the front and then the controller does the rest.
How can I try this with my half-dead touch? (I have controllers and use
the brilliant Squeeze Commander)
I have heard that it is possible to preload a sd card with a script that
will auto run on power-up to do this - but above my level of competence
Or is there a way to induce something physically
Happy to try anything to rescue my touch (and learn too).
All help much appreciated.

Fizbin / johtem thanks for the input. I was very careful to make sure the adapters I tried were correct. I actually tried my Classic 3 one first (5v same plug but only 2a) and when nothing happened I then tried the 2.5a one. Polarity is correct. I think the original adapter "dying" might be the cause of the problem. I have also had a message saying that the touch will work with the classic 3 adaptor (as long as no usb drive etc attached) - so looks like the extra ampage is not the issue. However I don't understand why the red light on the digital optical out still flashes - seems to suggest that the unit is not 100% dead. So I'm now trying to find out if there is some way to get the unit to go through the start-up routine like a duet receiver and then use it "headless". I will start a new thread with that question. Is the polarity of the barrel oké?
