Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] USB Hard Drive Limitations

@Apesbrain

Thanks for the link and for the explanation. I did a little more
reading and it goes along the lines of what you are saying in regards to
the USB directly connected to the touch not being as feature rich as
using LMS.

Are you thinking about running a hard drive directly into your Touch?
If so, don't do it. It's a recipe for disappointment. Run Logitech
Media Server on a proper PC with as big a hard drive as you need. The
Touch (wired or wireless) becomes a streamer for LMS which is the way it
works best.

[SlimDevices: Touch] USB Hard Drive Limitations

2019-02-14 Thread xxmodded

I have read and saw that a USB drive should be powered unless it is a
flash drive. An SD card has a 32gb limitation. Is there any other
limitation for a Powered USB Drive in regards to size or just the 10,000
track limitation?

In my search I did not see this and this was very helpful to questions
in my post...Thanks!

Thanks, that worked, but unfortunatly not without sighted help. But at
least my touch is playing music via my DAC now :-).

*lol* Yes. The kernel on the touch is to old or the needed modules are
not included. But no problem, SP/Dif is also OK for my needs.

Hi Christian

With the EDO installed, go to

Code:

Settings > Audio Settings >Digital Output > Digital Only

Connect the spdif via the co-ax to utilse the higher bit rate

Check that the Fixed Volume is set to 100%

I looked for info on the web about Linux and the DAC 40 and found a very
good site, you may already be familiar with it, lol.:)

All the best,
