Dear Squeezebox enthusiasts,
I've been searching the net and this forum for some days and found many
favorite-related topics, but none described the issue I'm facing.
The issue:
When using mysqueezebox.com (MSB) as server in the Squeezebox Touch
(SBT), I am able to create the favorites both via the SBT or MSB, but
the list of favorites is only shown in the favorites tab on MSB and can
only be played via the remote tab on the MSB site, not in the Favorites
list on my SBT home screen itself. That list remains empty. Does anybody
have an idea what could be wrong here?
My system:
Squeezebox Touch
Firmware version 7.8.0 r16754
SBT is registered and logged in at mysqueezebox.com, with the same
account I used on my web browser to log into MSB and remote and
surprised to see the favorites list there, which I added with the SBT
but couldn't see on the SBT itself.
MSB Datacenter: MySB EU West
Enhanced Digital Output (EDO) app installed
Externally powered USB 3.0 hub
Dragonfly Red
Some context of my use case:
I want to use the SBT mainly as an internet radio connected to my hifi
system via a Dragonfly Red and most of the times use the touchscreen
itself or an infrared (IR) remote like a Logitech Harmony 650 to select
the favorite internet radio stations in the most old school easy way (so
that elderly people could also use it), without using a computer, tablet
or having to get up and change collections 3 times or reboot to make
things work. Sometimes I would use a tablet to store a new Favorite or
control the SBT with an app like Squeezer.
To do the above, I think that using MSB as a server suits the best.
I don't want to use the Logitech Media Server (LMS), because a computer
or NAS needs to be running.
I don't want to use the internal Squeezebox server (SBS) either. I
tested it with an sd card which only had 1 mp3 on it and when I want to
switch to the mysqueezebox.com collection, I needed to restart the
internal SBS, switch to a different collection and connect to SBT (SD
card) multiple times. It seems that the SBT has a strong will to connect
to MSB whenever possible. So when I want to use a tablet or MSB remote
to command the SBT, then this SBS option would not be good either.
Ironically though, the Favorites work perfectly when using the internal
SBS or LMS via pc: when saving them via the SBT itself or via LMS, they
are shown in the Favorites in the home screen of the SBT...
I don't know if it is important to mention, but with the same
credentials I can log into MSB via browser perfectly, but not via LMS.
I've tried via ethernet and wiif. Both Bitdefender and Windows Defender
firewall allow LMS to make connections, and the following ports are open
on my router:
9000 TCP: Web GUI
9090 TCP: CLI (for example used by Android app Squeezer)
3483 TCP: Physical Squeezebox
31337
