Right. What seems to do it is trying to listen to R4 using the iPlayer plugin. Until I do this all seems OK. My Touch has all of a sudden started freezing and rebooting itself. I can't do much with it before it slows up, goes "jerky" & reboots. Any thoughts anyone? [SlimDevices: Touch] Custom Browse or Touch problem?
I've asked this question before - I'm hoping to get a better response this time. I'm not sure if this is a Custom Browse plugin issue or a Touch problem. I browse my music by Composer>Work>Album>Track. When at the Work or Album level, I want to be able to play all tracks in that Work/Album by using touch, i.e. not using the remote. "Play all" does nothing as far as I can see. [SlimDevices: Touch] A couple of problems
There seems to be something amiss with the Touch Now Playing screen. I'm playing music using the Custom Browse plugin. If I change to a different album, the Now Playing screen and playlist don't seem to update to the new album. Secondly, and this might be partly a DAC problem, on albums where there is a distinct gap between tracks (as opposed to albums where tracks run directly into the next), I get a click/pop between tracks. I think this is partly to do with the DAC (Beresford Caiman) because it has some kind of micro switch inside (I think) which clicks when the digital source stops/starts. I'm wondering why I there should be a difference between the two types of track. [SlimDevices: Touch] Which tags?
I've been attemting to use my Touch with a USB drive. My music library is mostly classical and all my tracks are tagged to suit the Custom Browse/Scan plugins. I don't have Artist tags, I use Album artist and Workartist tags. I tried putting the composer name in the empty Artist slots but these don't appear under Artist on the Touch when reading from USB, only Album artist tags appear under Artist. On a slightly separate issue, is it difficult for the developers of SB devices to add some basic menu functionality to suit classical libraries? I'd have thought there are by now quite a few users in my situation. While waiting for my Touch to arrive, I've been playing around with Squeezeplay since I understand the interface is basically the same. What slightly concerns me is that it doesn't seem to work in the same way as my other Squeezeboxes when using Custom Browse. E.g. my classical music is tagged by "work" so that if I want to play a particular work which consists of several tracks, I find the work and press play and all the tracks are played.
