Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] problems with Wi-Fi
if the PSU is in slow failure mode you can replace it with something like this https://www.amazon.com/MyVolts-adaptor-compatible-Logitech-Squeezebox/dp/B00GQVG8Q2/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_i=B00GQVG8Q2&psc=1 The WiFi card in the Touch may not be compatible with more recent WiFi setups, so a bridging device and wiring the Touch to that would fix the problem. Been running EDO on my Touch via the coax output into my external DAC for what seems like forever. Hook the Touch up with coax into the Oppo. You can turn both off if you want, and things will work fine when you turn the 2 devices on. I did look at the Oppo manual, and it does not accept 24/192 on its coax input. It helps to fully understand the CD to FLAC process, and EAC is really good because it tells you what's going on in the process, step by step. What happens when you click on the CMP button is that EAC rips the content to WAV, then applies the compression defined in this section below. The compression could be anything you want to use. In this case the settings you see are default for EAC using FLAC - note that EAC contains the FLAC compression engine in one of its folders. 28198 +---+ |Filename: EAC-compression-options.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=28198| +---+ Chris :) Stratmangler's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20387 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110949 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

I'm not sure about unnecessary rubbish being added - it's often dictated by the resolution something was recorded at digitally in the first place. If you're set up to record at 24/192, then your initial resolution is 24/192. Usually stuff gets very much reduced by post recording processing. There's not a great deal wrong with 16/44.1, just as long as it's not made to sound louder than everything else. Good mastering shines through, and a lot of stuff released today is very poorly mastered. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Rebuffering during playback of one 192 file
AIFF can be thought of as being WAV with knobs on. WAV capable of carrying metadata, something that WAV itself has difficulty with. So the files are bigger from the off. They're both PCM, and both have bandwidth hogging issues, which if not met causes rebuffering. The reason why FLAC was settled on was because of greater efficiency WRT network resources when streamed. The OP needs to either work out some way of making fully wired the ways things run, or turn off EDO and have 24/192 files resample to something more efficient to stream. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Enabling Spotify
Hi Anthony Ive had another play. This time I shut down my NAS (running LMS) to simplify the situation. Only one server, so no possibility of a mix up jumping from one to another. I installed LMS 7.7.5 on my laptop, and used the web interface to set the area I wanted to be scanned, leaving it to scan. I navigated to Spotify and revoked LMS access. I then navigated to mysb.com and deleted the players, deleted the login to Spotify, and finally removed the app from my app list. I then opened up the web interface LMS web interface, went into settings/mysb.com and entered my mysb.com login credentials. After that I went back to the LMS home screen, and clicked on My Apps/App Gallery, which opened to my mysb.com account. I then proceeded to add Spotify to my apps, and then went into my list of apps and opened the Spotify app, entered my login credentials for access, and clicked to enter details, whereupon I had another screen (from Spotify) appearing and asking for confirmation that I wanted to permit access, which I agreed to. I then went to the nearest (wired) player, and held the reset button until the device restored itself to factory settings, and continued on to setting up login for mysb.com , and the Spotify app installed itself onto the player. I used the players touch screen to access Spotify, and gained access to my saved artists. I backed out of Spotify, and navigated to My Music/switch server and pointed the player at my newly installed LMS server. I then rebooted the laptop, which stopped and restarted LMS in the process. Opening up the LMS web interface I could see that the Spotify app had reappeared under My Apps on the home screen, and I could open the app and get the appropriate responses on the screen. I currently have Ben Harper's "Welcome To The Cruel World" playing from Spotify servers. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Enabling Spotify
Hi Anthony I've been playing around, and managed to completely screw up my Spotify access, but I learned a bit in the process. If you log into Spotify and go to your account and look at apps you should be able to see whether your server has logged in. If it has delete it. If you then go to your account in mysb.com and look at the Spotify app you'll see a red circle with a - in it. Click on it, and it will delete your login from mysb.com . >From there you can then enter your login details, which should then take to a further login page, asking if you want to allow mysb to connect. Using TIDAL login? > Can you login using your e-mail address and password? No. I mean in ickstream settings in LMS. My Tidal email address and password worked just fine until about a week ago. I never went to ickstream and set up a user account. I have since set up an ickstream user account, and that makes no difference. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Ipeng->IckStream->Tidal, "no content available"
I uninstalled the ickstream app in LMS, then reinstalled it. In ickstream settings it will not log into Tidal - I get to the login page, but after entering the login details and clicking go the web page sits there with the circling pointer and doesn't ever get to the logged in stage. Setting up the Tidal app on www.mysqueezebox.com and things play ball. Only one problem - the Tidal app on www.mysqueezebox.com plays mp3. The connection via ickstream was working with FLAC, as the subscription I have is the HiFi one. This connection was working fine until about a week ago. Why make life difficult with USB? The Touch will output 24/192 via the coaxial SPDIF when it has EDO installed on it, and it's a damn sight less problematic than USB.
