Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch will not play Apple lossless !

Perhaps the problem is 'Bug 15703'

OK thanks (I think I read it once before).
 Mmm...I've got _ts_composerInArtists: 1271094131

That is the timestamp of when *composerInArtists* was last changed. You
need to find the preference without the *_ts_* prefix.

FLAC compression scheme is asymmetric in terms of
 compression/decompression.

No matter how high compression level is the needed decompression
procession power is always virtually the same.

I am afraid that that is not true. Yes, the scheme is asymetric and
encoding is much more expensive than decoding, but streams encoded at a
higher level do require more CPU to decode them than those encoded at
lower levels.

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Refreshing library after updates + streaming ALAC to SB Radio +

Question : assuming i fix some of the tags, or I rip in new CDs to the
shared drive location... will the Touch recognize the changes
automatically ? Is there a way to have it scan for changes ? Do I need
to wipe and recreate the database everytime something changes in the
 library ?

It should rescan automatically.

 2. I tried streaming from my Touch to a SB Radio. I know that ALAC is
not supported by the SB Radio, but I would have expected the Touch to
transcode. It does not seem to work (I get noise), or maybe I am doing
 something wrong.

Have you upgraded the Radio firmware to 7.5?

I would go for ext3 if you are comfortable with that.

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] What format does a Network HD need to be to run Touch (or other Squeezebox devices)

Pogo, by default has no perl and if you install openpogo, it's a
non-threaded perl. This won't work with Sbs.

Which is a bit of a pity since we use a non-threaded perl for TinySC
(also ARM) because it is substantially smaller, and somewhat faster. I
guess we could look at providing non-threaded version of the various
perl-XS libraries for the ARM build.
