Any help? I see mention of a ttvol in this thread but that was not
described in the 2.0 section of the blog.

2011-02-02 Thread tonyptony

I may have missed this, but has anyone else found the digital volume of
the Touch locked at 50% after applying the 2.0 mods? I did a full hard
button reset, then install of 2.0. It went fine. I did all of the
recommended Soundcheck tweaks, but I did leave all outputs active. I'm
using v7.5.1 of SS and the Touch was updated to the latest FW before I
installed 2.0.

Is "Reset Player Preferences" from the Settings menu sufficient, or
does it require a real "hardware reset"?

I had a couple of them custom made for some other work I had to do. One
is left over. It's been such a long time that I think it's 8VAC out. it
might be 10. I'll have to check the documentation, assuming I can find
it!

It better not be a bum unit, because I occasionally have the same

Haven't looked at it hard enough to identify the conditions when it
happens.

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Experts - comments on these Touch mods

2010-06-25 Thread tonyptony

I did the listed configuration mods including turning off the analog
outs. Major difference? No, but there is a small one (at least in my
system). Just a bit more clarity in what seems like sounds that are set
further back in the soundstage. Maybe that translates into improved
calrity throughout? I don't know. Haven't listened enough. My wife
noticed it as well when I asked her (with no preconditioning) to listen
to a couple of her favorite tunes and then tell me if there was any
difference.

Wonder what's up with this?

[SlimDevices: Touch] Is there any way to adjust the spectrum display?

2010-04-22 Thread tonyptony

The one that shows the modulating bar levels as the music is playing? It
seems that on my display it almost always looks like a cutaway view of a
box. That is, the bars on the left and right extreme are always at their
max and the 18 or so in the middle flicker rarely more than a tick or
two.
