Thank you both for your advice.

Headphones
Very-old 20 years?-but loved Sennheiser HD 580. The open back makes them
a no go for listening in bed-Mrs. does not appreciate the subliminal
messages of Porcupine Tree or Howling Wolf at 11 ;)
Audio-Technica ATH-M40x are one of the best balanced headphones I can
recall. They sound wonderful. The fact that they are $100 US makes these
a great buy. Trouble is they become uncomfortable quickly for me.
Inbound Oppo PM-3's, Denon AH-MM400's, Sennheiser Momentum 2's and
Audeze EL-8 closed back.

I have a M2TECH Young but have no way to control volume.

I've worked with Bes-Besflores Nievera of Music Direct for decades. I'll
hit him up for a nano – iDSD

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Announce: Enhanced Digital Output app - USB Dac and 192k Digital Ouput

2015-09-10 Thread trans_lux

Hello
Finally got around to picking up a Touch to try EDO.
My only use is for headphones.

I see Matrix is going to release a new DAC/Headphone amp-'QUATTRO II '
I know this is new but does it look like a good companion?
Or is there a lower cost recommended alternative?

Volume control-my assumption is that using EDO does not allow or is not
recommended for volume control directly from LMS?
With this in mind a unit with integrated volume control would be
needed.

Thank you in advance an I look forward to your thoughts.
