Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Basics for IPod Touch use

You only need to use iTunes once, to setup the device. You can download
iPeng using the App Store on the device itself.

No getting away from ITunes then !
So is all of the screen info on the Touch replicated on the ITouch ? I
want to be able to see the titles / album art etc. without having to
squint at a screen metres away.
Cheers

it's really quite simple it turns out. I understand that any model of
the iTOUCH would work (I'm using an older iPHONE). Once you have the
iTOUCH, you'll set it up, communicate with it in terms of putting
music, apps, firmware updates, etc. on it via ITUNES (which you'll
install on your computer). Within itunes, simply go to the store, go to
the apps section, and search for "ipeng". This will download ipeng to
itunes. Then when you sync your iTOUCH to itunes, ipeng will be on your
iTOUCH. Open iTOUCH and tap the ipENG icon and it should just work. It
will find your SbS running (or mysqueezebox.com). Select the server (or
mysb.com) and you're good to go. I feel like iPENG is a REQUIRED part
of the SB experience!

[SlimDevices: Touch] Basics for IPod Touch use

2010-08-14 Thread liffy99

Is there an idiots guide for getting and setting up an IPod Touch for
use as a remote ?
Which model IPod Touch would I need ?
Where do I get IPeng (and version ?)
Configuration needed.
Does the IPod replicate all of the screen information displayed on the
Touch ?

Just that long range visibility of the Touch screen / std remote is
driving me mad !

Thanks
