Hi,

I have a one week old Touch running latest firmware (7.6.1-r9486) with
similar crackle problem. I spoke to Logitech Customer Service and they
think there is an intermittant hardware problem with the logic chip.
They suggested doing a factory reset. Did that, but still get
occasional crackle audio output problem.

First time I had problem, crackle appeared on all Internet radio
stations (only using Touch for Internet Radio via mysqueezebox.com).
Did a re-boot and problem cleared up. After doing suggested factory
reset, still had 3 occasions where crackle showed up, twice when radio
was first turned on, and one time after radio playing on one station
for a few hours. In all 3 cases, the crackle disappeared simply by
changing to another radio station.

I've tried two different sets of powered speakers, and changed the
volume settings on both the speakers and Touch, all of which has no
effect on the crackle.

Anyone have any thoughts/feedback before I get an RMA and ship the unit
back to Logitech for a replacement unit?

[SlimDevices: Touch] Output Crackle

Strange thing this morning, started playing an MP3 on my touch (16GB SD
card internal server) and I got output crackle on both left and right
speakers. I suspected the speaker, so did a couple of tests, but got
nowhere. I then connected headphones directly to the touch and got the
crackle. (Crackle on all tracks I tried, but only while music playing,
and this was a crackle not a pop like other posts). I then connected my
headphones via a short converter to the RCA outputs, same crackle
there.

Tried the old IT fix and rebooted the touch and started the same track
with the headphones still connected, what do you know - problem gone
(Touch software version 7.6.1 r9486 hardware rev 5)

Reconnected the speakers with built in amp and all is fine, but for how
long. - Any body else suffered this?
(I also have  a duet and radio connected to network, but these were
idle)
