Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Sorry if dumb question
Before I became a homeworker due to the pandemic, I built a small server for my office with a Raspberry Pi (piCorePlayer, LMS) and a hard drive (a copy of my music files), which might be a cost effective and better performing alternative to using the tinyLMS in the Touch. If you want to play more than a few dozen albums, eg. online radio, podcasts, services, you're definitely better off using a Pi setup. "TinyLMS" (as we used to call it) on Touch doesn't have SSL support (needed for many online radio stations, podcasts, music services) or web UI, no plugins, and always too little memory. It's super slow compared to a Pi. ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Sorry if dumb question
It can, but the server is not that robust. A USB flash drive is what was in mind when it was designed; a big USB hard drive with a lot of files will make it slow to respond. Don't update to the "Community Firmware" as it removes this capability.
