[SlimDevices: Touch] Touch and AIFF playback
I have applied one of Soundcheck's tweaks to my Touch (I've disabled FLAC on the Touch and forced mysqueezebox server on the computer to convert FLAC to PCM). I am very pleased with the results (especially when playing hi-def 24-bit/94 KHz FLAC, or even 24-bit/44.1 KHz, as in the Beatles remasters). I have ripped my entire library to AIFF (I'm on the Mac), so my question is: are there any differences between AIFF and WAV when playing through the Touch? Is WAV the only native format that Touch can do knee-jerk, or is AIFF also hard-wired into Touch? Thanks. -- magiccarpetride magiccarpetride's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82746 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

AIFF is the same thing as WAV, it just has the bits flipped. They are the same and both are supported. -- andyg andyg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3292 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82746 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

For a while there I was thinking oh no, what if I have to re-rip my entire collection to WAV?!? -- magiccarpetride magiccarpetride's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82746 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
