Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch losing connection on ethernet
OK I have checked all the ethernet cables connected (in)directly to the touch and still get connection errors. In fact the first time I tried changing a ethernet cable I got this message on the screen Connection Problem We can't detect a wired connection, Please check your ethernet cable and make sure your network is running and available . Od thing about this message is the Touch played for at least a half an hour (Local music) with the message on the screen. Eventually I managed to get rid of the message. Today I have been listening to MySqueezebox.com and a similar occurence happened. I got this message with no interruption of Folk Alley which just continued to play There is a problem connecting to MySqueezebox.com --Try Again --Switch Library While this screen was up the remote did not function (tried another remote same result) and I could not choose either option, shut off or pause or any other remote command I tried. Eventually I reset the Touch from the button on the back and it returned to normal. My next step is to follow Stratmangler's suggestion and do a factory reset on the Touch. The other thing that seems to occur periodically is the volume levels change (to much higher levels) without any intervention on my part.:( Logitech Media Server Version: 7.8.0 - 1386246861 @ Fri Dec 6 19:06:27 PST 2013 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.14.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) One SB Touch connected by ethernet - Denon AVR -1912 Receiver, Paradigm 4.1 speakers One SB Boom wireless One SB Radio wireless SlimChances's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=165 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100927 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Another alternative might be hardware related, may be the cable, Ethernet ports or even your router. Might be worth trying a different cable and maybe a different port on your router, see if it helps. These are the settings in the router: LAN SETTINGS IP ADDRESS: 192.168.1.1 *SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0 GATEWAY:* 192.168.1.1 THESE ARE THE SETTINGS IN THE TOUCH: *IP ADDRESS: *192.168.1.104 *IP SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0 IP Gateway:* 192.168.1.1 So other than the IP address the numbers coincide I will check ethernet cables next, if I can dig up some spare cables Logitech Media Server Version: 7.8.0 - 1386246861 @ Fri Dec 6 19:06:27 PST 2013 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.14.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) One SB Touch connected by ethernet - Denon AVR -1912 Receiver, Paradigm 4.1 speakers One SB Boom wireless One SB Radio wireless SlimChances's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=165 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100927 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch losing connection on ethernet
I have contacted my router/modem maker for help but really didn't get a satisfactory explanation from them why the disconnects are occuring; given that it seems to happen with my Touch (wired) and not my Radio (wireless) or any other device I think it is a problem specific to the Touch but I don't know how to troubleshoot it. The suggestion that it was a problem with the LMS server now seems quite unlikely as the disconnects seem to happen just as frequently when connected to MySqueezezbox.com when the LMS server is down. Again there is no interruption of music noticable just a recurrent screen on the Touch with a Circle timer indicating that it is trying to connect (either to MySqueezebox.com or the local LMS server Logitech Media Server Version: 7.8.0 - 1386246861 @ Fri Dec 6 19:06:27 PST 2013 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.14.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) One SB Touch connected by ethernet - Denon AVR -1912 Receiver, Paradigm 4.1 speakers One SB Boom wireless One SB Radio wireless SlimChances's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=165 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100927 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

[SlimDevices: Touch] Touch losing connection on ethernet
Have noticed for the last few weeks that my Touch has a screen saying it is trying to connect to the server periodically. The music is not interrupted when this happens, I just get the message and a circle spinning then it returns to proper screen. I would think if there was a break in the connection via ethernet I would have no music. Only recent changes I can think of are updating 7.8 to a more recent nightly build (see signature) in December Logitech Media Server Version: 7.8.0 - 1386246861 @ Fri Dec 6 19:06:27 PST 2013 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux Perl Version: 5.14.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) One SB Touch connected by ethernet - Denon AVR -1912 Receiver, Paradigm 4.1 speakers One SB Boom wireless One SB Radio wireless SlimChances's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=165 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100927 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
