Mine was doing this, if you press HOME on the remote it should go back
to the normal menu and work again (mine did). I was about to launch it
through the window before I figure out how to do this though, very very
annoying!

It is back in working order now, listening to music again :) Thanks to
you I got the stupid update screen away and maneuvered to
diagnostics/update - this time with the reinstall after firmware update
enabled under applet installer. 

Thanks for the help guys - it's a great product, I'm very happy now :)
