** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1203565 Title: 045e:009c [H87-PRO] Microsoft Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth dead keys problem Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: In Precise with 4.60 version of bluez I can pair my keyboard and mouse perfectly. === The problem is that dead keys of my keyboard (I mean -L or R- CTRL, ALT, SUPER, -L or R- SHIFT, ALT-GR) doesn't work with my current motherboard (whether application I opened, console included). It does work correctly with other motherboards. The new motherboard is an 1150 Haswell one from Asus. What I can say is : 1/ When booting, my BIOS recognize perfectly the dead keys of my keyboard, meaning that the bluetooth dongle or the motherboard is not directly concerned. 2/ When doing a second installation of Ubuntu, same problem. 3/ When trying the option 'keyboard layout' (whatever layout I choose), I don't see those dead keys flashing, meaning the system doesn't react at all when pressing them. 4/ By chance, I found another keyboard (same model, same brand), same problem, meaning the keyboard is not concerned (it works on the older motherboard, then it was poor chance that the keyboard broked just before reinstalling). 5/ Tried the setxkbmap command (with sudo or without), nothing's better 6/ Tried the xmodmap command, I see the 0x codes for Left SHIFT, all dead keys are there (see attachment) 7/ Normal keyboard (no wireless) works perfectly 8/ Put the dongle on an other usb slot doesn't change anything 9/ Command xev doesn't makes changes when pressing dead keys. For me it's clearly a Ubuntu's system bug, with my motherboard (Asus H87-PRO socket 1150). --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.25. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1373661] Re: PulseAudio settings are not loaded correctly after boot
[Expired for pulseaudio (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1373661 Title: PulseAudio settings are not loaded correctly after boot Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: It seems that from time when PulseAudio is used in Ubuntu there is a problem with loading sound profiles. First from all, I intend to use 5.1 sound surround system. In my case there are only maybe 4 speaker playing, even that I see there is 5.1 profile configured. They are not muted. As temporarily fix I found it is enough, when I simply switch to different sound profile (for example 50) and then again to 51 - same one as previously configured. But after this re-switch, it just works as supposed. So it is clearly a bug, because it does not work after boot with same sound profile, but after switching to another and then back to 51 analog surround, it is fixed. It is possible to change such profiles by pacmd command too. Tested sound card is Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. Running Ubuntu 14.04, but this bug is present there for years. Interestingly, there are two sound cards reported in my system. #0 is HDMI sound card from NVidia card. #1 is Sound Blaster card. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1405207] Re: [Inspiron N5110, IDT 92HD87B1/3, Black Headphone Out, Right] No sound at all
Thanks for your support. You will have to hold my hand a bit, I don't know linux as a first or second language. here's what I can add to the troubleshooting... 1) just to be clear, there is no sound from headphones when plugged into the headphone jack. Sound continues to come out of built-in speakers. 2) I opened "system Setting" , then "Sound." The only sound output device listed is built-in speakers, this does not change when I plug headphones in. 3) When I plug headphones into the MIC jack, it shows up as an output device "Headphones", but headphones do not work either. At the same time, the headphones plugged into MIC show up as "Microphone" in the Input tab. So it looks like the sensing is screwed up, and I had trouble with this even in Windows7 before installing Ubuntu 14 On 12/24/2014 11:01 AM, Raymond wrote: > headphone is not plugged, > > try hda jack sense test > > > Default Amp-Out caps: ofs=0x7f, nsteps=0x7f, stepsize=0x02, mute=1 > > Node 0x13 [Audio Output] wcaps 0xd0c05: Stereo Amp-Out R/L >Control: name="Headphone Playback Volume", index=0, device=0 > ControlAmp: chs=3, dir=Out, idx=0, ofs=0 >Control: name="Headphone Playback Switch", index=0, device=0 > ControlAmp: chs=3, dir=Out, idx=0, ofs=0 >Device: name="92HD87B1/3 Analog", type="Audio", device=0 >Amp-Out caps: N/A >Amp-Out vals: [0x6f 0x6f] >Converter: stream=8, channel=0 >Power states: >Power: setting=D0, actual=D0 >Delay: 13 samples > > > control.19 { > iface CARD > name 'Headphone Jack' > value false > comment { > access read > type BOOLEAN > count 1 > } > } > > > active profile: > sinks: > alsa_output.pci-_00_1b.0.analog-stereo/#0: Built-in Audio > Analog Stereo > sources: > alsa_output.pci-_00_1b.0.analog-stereo.monitor/#0: Monitor > of Built-in Audio Analog Stereo > alsa_input.pci-_00_1b.0.analog-stereo/#1: Built-in Audio > Analog Stereo > ports: > analog-input-microphone-internal: Internal Microphone (priority > 8900, latency offset 0 usec, available: unknown) > properties: > device.icon_name = "audio-input-microphone" > analog-input-microphone: Microphone (priority 8700, latency > offset 0 usec, available: no) > properties: > device.icon_name = "audio-input-microphone" > analog-output-speaker: Speakers (priority 1, latency offset > 0 usec, available: unknown) > properties: > device.icon_name = "audio-speakers" > analog-output-headphones: Headphones (priority 9000, latency > offset 0 usec, available: no) > properties: > device.icon_name = "audio-headphones" > hdmi-output-0: HDMI / DisplayPort (priority 5900, latency > offset 0 usec, available: no) > properties: > device.icon_name = "video-display" > > > ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1405207 Title: [Inspiron N5110, IDT 92HD87B1/3, Black Headphone Out, Right] No sound at all Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: speakers on dell inspiron are working, but headphone jack does not , at all, ever. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1405404] [NEW] ntp vulnerabilities
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Network Time Protocol (NTP) Project NTP daemon (ntpd) contains multiple vulnerabilities The NTP Project ntpd version 4.2.7 and pervious versions allow attackers to overflow several buffers in a way that may allow malicious code to be executed. ntp-keygen prior to version 4.2.7p230 also uses a non-cryptographic random number generator when generating symmetric keys. These vulnerabilities affect ntpd acting as a server or client. Description The Network Time Protocol (NTP) provides networked systems with a way to synchronize time for various services and applications. The reference implementation produced by the NTP Project (ntp.org) contains several vulnerabilities. http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/852879 https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2014-9295 The backport for 4.0 is also needed. ** Affects: ntp (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Assignee: MOS Linux (mos-linux) Status: Confirmed ** Tags: customer-found cve-2014-9295 ntp -- ntp vulnerabilities https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1405404 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ntp in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
