[Touch-packages] [Bug 1160569]
g_slice_set_config()(In reply to Karl Tomlinson (:karlt) from comment #44) On irc, glandium indicated that he would prefer to dlopen libglib (before anything depends on libgobject) and use the deprecated g_slice_set_config internal debugging api, than follow Matthias' suggestion to use GSLICE=always-malloc, because of the awkwardness of putenv/unsetenv. GSLICE=always-malloc ENV is the only way how to disable it in glib = 2.35. g_slice_set_config() actually does nothing because it tweaks only a local copy of slice_config which is not send to the allocator. The actual slice_config_init() config routine has its SliceConfig *config for that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apport in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1160569 Title: [regression] GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion `sys_page_size == 0' failed Status in The Mozilla Firefox Browser: Confirmed Status in The G Library - GLib: Unknown Status in apport package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Have a look at the screen-shot for more details. For example having the LED flash red while charging and white while being fully charged but still plugged. That way one can immediately see when the phone has finished charging. Given that those LEDs are all RGB nowadays we could even be more clever. How about something like this? * you plug an empty phone, LED turns on, lights red * as the phone charges, the LED does a color animation towards green so you could see a half charged phone when the orange light is glowing or know it's mostly ready when the light is greenish. Obviously any charging state indication should be overridden by the blue one for indicating missing calls/messages we already have. What actually happened In Software Updates opened through the menu of Synaptics Package Manager (Settings - Repositories), I opened the Updates tab and changed 'When there are other updates:' from 'Display every two weeks' to 'Display immediately'. I then closed the window. In the terminal I started Software Updates by executing software-properties-gtk. I went to the Updates tab and the setting for 'When there are other updates:' was still set to 'Display every two weeks'. Leaving this instance of Software Updates open, I then opened another instance of Software Updates through the menu of Synaptics Package Manager. Opening the Updates tab, the setting for 'When there are other updates:' was indeed 'Display immediately'. This demonstrates that Ubuntu stores two independent sets of settings for Software Updates. However, the settings through the menu of Synaptics are ignored by the system. This can confuse a user who discovers Software Updates through the Synaptics menu and relies on it to cu stomize updates. I will include a screen shot of these two instances of Software Updates open side by side reflecting their divergent settings. Both windows were opened and the Updates tab chosen. No menu items were changed before taking the screen shot. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1403955] Re: DHCP's Option interface-mtu 9000 is being ignored on bridge interface br0
Presumably this is related to the DHCP client via dhclient and dhclient- script, so presumably should be a task on isc-dhcp? I see code in dhclient-script that sets the MTU based on the DHCP option, but it doesn't have any special behaviour for br0. So I'm wondering if this code is being used at all, or if some other interaction is causing it to fail in this case. Why is br0 being set up to bridge eth0? Is something doing this automatically or is this configuration necessary for something (if so, what?)? Without using br0 and just using plain eth0, does the interface-mtu option work correctly? ** Package changed: dhcp3 (Ubuntu) = isc-dhcp (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to isc-dhcp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1403955 Title: DHCP's Option interface-mtu 9000 is being ignored on bridge interface br0 Status in isc-dhcp package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In an env with jumbo frames enabled, and using MAAS as DHCP server, the client receives the following IPv4 lease: $ cat /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.br0.leases lease { interface br0; fixed-address 10.230.20.26; filename pxelinux.0; option subnet-mask 255.255.248.0; option dhcp-lease-time 43200; option routers 10.230.16.1; option dhcp-message-type 5; option dhcp-server-identifier 10.230.20.1; option domain-name-servers 10.230.20.1; option interface-mtu 9000; option broadcast-address 10.230.23.255; option domain-name ctsstack.qa.1ss; renew 3 2014/12/17 16:48:15; rebind 3 2014/12/17 21:52:09; expire 3 2014/12/17 23:22:09; } The interfaces show the following config after boot: $ ifconfig br0 br0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr a0:d3:c1:01:9d:58 inet addr:10.230.20.26 Bcast:10.230.23.255 Mask:255.255.248.0 inet6 addr: fe80::a2d3:c1ff:fe01:9d58/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:530530 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:1591569 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:68713489 (68.7 MB) TX bytes:213710979 (213.7 MB) $ ifconfig eth0 eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr a0:d3:c1:01:9d:58 inet6 addr: fe80::a2d3:c1ff:fe01:9d58/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:10539274 errors:0 dropped:3394 overruns:0 frame:454 TX packets:2627412 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:2320560616 (2.3 GB) TX bytes:3562885157 (3.5 GB) Interrupt:32 option interface-mtu 9000; from the lease file is being ignored by br0. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1407640] [NEW] Preview generation should not rely on glReadPixels

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1314780] Re: Full screen between xorg and VMWare-Workstation
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314780 Title: Full screen between xorg and VMWare-Workstation Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: This is a minor bug that seems to be a conflict between xorg and VMWare Workstation 9 in Ubuntu 14.04. It seems most noticeable and prevalent with dual monitors. This issue was not present in 12.04. The taskbar at the top of the screen that is always present seems to give issues with full screen VMWare. In 12.04, it would stay at the top for a bit and then go away if you clicked anywhere in the full screen window. With 14.04, it doesn't show up at all anymore but it is still there. It is a ghost of it and then will be a selectable option. If you click in the full screen window anywhere, the taskbar does not show at the top, but it is still selectable as an option. The focus does not go to the full screen. You can do things in there as long as the thing you are trying to do doesn't reside at the top of the screen where it would be the taskbar. Once you select the top of the screen where the taskbar should be, this makes the VMWare window the active window in xorg, it then goes on top of the taskbar again. This is a major inconvenience bug because when you try to select anything in the top right while the taskbar is still on top of the full screen without appearing to be on top, it will select either the calendar or power settings or anything up in the top right. Attached are screenshots as the process happens. Step 1. Click on the screen which ISN'T FULL SCREEN VMWARE. Step 2. Click anywhere in full screen VMWare window except top where taskbar resides. Taskbar is hidden but still on top. Step 3. Click where taskbar is in right corner and it will overtake the full screen window. You can select date, power, english, etc.. Step 4. Click anywhere else at very top of screen, taskbar will then go away and VMWare fullscreen will work properly. EDIT: Apparently I have been calling the bar at the top the wrong name. It's MenuBar. The Ubuntu MenuBar is not playing well with fullscreen VMWare Workstation. It also doesn't show up for using File, Edit, etc... [Touch-packages] [Bug 1401723] Re: can't use OSK to complete purchase after adding account
We would need a sample code that reproduces the issue. I tried to reproduce it myself with the UI Toolkit Gallery, and I couldn't manage to. ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-ui-toolkit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401723 Title: can't use OSK to complete purchase after adding account Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: While testing krillin rtm image 176, I tried to add a payment method. I had just freshly flashed though, so I didn't have my U1 account set up yet. What happened was, after clicking $2.99, the button changed to In progress. The U1 account creation UI came up and I entered my login info. After finishing that, I got the payment detail interface. So far so good, though I didn't see a link for viewing the wallet. The pay UI seemed to go automatically to the wallet page. So, I tried to enter a new payment method, and found that none of the text input fields could be used since the OSK never appeared. I tried a quarter swipe from the right edge to nudge the focus and allow the OSK to appear. This caused a blinking cursor to appear in the text field, but still no OSK. So, I did a full swipe to switch to another app and back, and found myself back at the app detail page with In progress still blinking. If my U1 account is already added, this doesn't happen -- the wallet link is shown and OSK input works fine. The issue only shows up if the U1 account gets defined during the payment process. Something odd seems to be happening with keyboard input focus here, but only in the specific UI flow where the user tries to add a U1 account *and* add a new payment method. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1314780] Re: Full screen between xorg and VMWare-Workstation
See also https://communities.vmware.com/thread/485583 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314780 Title: Full screen between xorg and VMWare-Workstation Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: This is a minor bug that seems to be a conflict between xorg and VMWare Workstation 9 in Ubuntu 14.04. Step 4. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1383277] Re: Power dialog sometimes shown on resume
I am seeing this very consistently for the first time on mako with the most recent image. The usual symptom is pressing the button first time to resume does nothing, pressing again immediately turns the screen on then off again, the next press shows the shutdown dialog. This only happens when the phone actually sleeps, i.e. it never happens when plugged into usb. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1383277 Title: Power dialog sometimes shown on resume Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: Confirmed Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu RTM: Triaged Bug description: Unfortunately no good steps to reproduce, other than resume your phone, from time to time you'll get the power dialog displayed on screen. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1407694] Re: Gmail webapp stops working and can't recover
I've seen this happening before. It's not due to the OOM (and in fact, all the Online Accounts daemons automatically quit after a few seconds of inactivity), but rather to the service being stuck due to bug 1377968 (see comment #2 there). ** Changed in: accountsservice (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** No longer affects: webapps-core ** Changed in: ubuntu-system-settings-online-accounts (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-system-settings- online-accounts in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407694 Title: Gmail webapp stops working and can't recover Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: New Status in accountsservice package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in ubuntu-system-settings-online-accounts package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: ubuntu-rtm image 184 on Krillin Was using the phone a lot during the break and experienced Gmail getting into a state where it would launch and have a white screen. You could not recover even after killing and restarting the app. This happened mulitple times. I believe the online account service possibly is getting killed by the OOM killer and trying to launch Gmail after this occurs does not work. If this is the case, we should a) try to not let account service be killed by oom killer and b) recover gracefully if the service is not running and still allow the app to be launced. Steps to reproduce: 1) setup online account for Google and Gmail 2) unplug the phone from USB 3) launch gmail webapp and a lot of other apps 4) kill gmail but leave other apps running 5) use the phone for a while and let it suspend for a while (5-10 minutes) 6) try and launch gmail and you get a blank white screen, see the log below. 7) kill and restart gmail with the same error The only way I could make it work again was to delete the online account or reboot webapp-container: unrecognized option '--store-session-cookies' webapp-container: unrecognized option '--accountProvider=google' webapp-container: unrecognized option '--webappUrlPatterns=https?://mail.google.*/*,https?://accounts.google.*/*,https?://accounts.google.co.*/*,https?://www.google.*/accounts/*,https?://www.google.com/calendar*' libust[28543/28580]: Error: Error opening shm /lttng-ust-wait-5-32011 (in get_wait_shm() at lttng-ust-comm.c:886) libust[28543/28579]: Error: Error opening shm /lttng-ust-wait-5 (in get_wait_shm() at lttng-ust-comm.c:886) libust[28543/28579]: Error: Error opening shm /lttng-ust-wait-5 (in get_wait_shm() at lttng-ust-comm.c:886) libust[28543/28580]: Error: Error opening shm /lttng-ust-wait-5-32011 (in get_wait_shm() at lttng-ust-comm.c:886) Invalid webapps installation Invalid webapps installation Ignoring empty or invalid webapp URL pattern: https?://accounts.google.co.*/* Using Oxide as the web engine backend Setting session cookie mode to persistent Empty path in webapps model search path update request QQmlExpression: Expression file:///usr/share/webbrowser-app/webcontainer/WebApp.qml:179:25 depends on non-NOTIFYable properties: unity::action::qml::ActionManager::globalContext Empty path in webapps model search path update request UbuntuWindow - regular geometry UbuntuWindow::handleSurfaceFocusChange(focused=true) UbuntuWindow::handleSurfaceResize(width=540, height=919) UbuntuClipboard - Got invalid serialized mime data.
