  6) view package field in the report

  Package: thunderbird 1:38.0~b6+build2-0ubuntu1

  Instead I would expect the Package field to contain a "[origin: LP-

fine up until now. I am using Phonecoop Mobile in the UK.
  Oddly, the new auto-reply feature [an SMS saying "I will call you back later
etc."] DOES send! Or at least it shows green in the messages list. Could be
that the re-configure to auto-reply is the source of the problem ?
  Incidentally, not sure how I configure auto-reply ...

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1470572] Re: native-origins.d information causes apport to strip origin information from Package

2015-07-01 Thread Martin Pitt
Right, I suppose my original thinking was "only non-native packages
should be marked that way, to stand out when a developer looks at it".
But this collides with the use case of retracing with PPA support, as we
need to find these packages. So we need to be careful to not start
rejecting these bugs; i. e. that apport.packaging.is_distro_package()
does not cause UnreportableReason=="this is not an official package
blabla".

  Docker unix socket permission issue on ubuntu-core update

Status in Snappy Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I have been running the docker framework (2015-06-15 1.6.1.002) on a
  Snappy Ubuntu Core (ubuntu-core/15.04/stable) instance on aws EC2. On
  June 11th the instance automatically upgraded from ubuntu-core version
  2 to ubuntu-core version 3 and rebooted. The running Docker
  containers restarted without any issues, however when I next logged in
  to run a docker command I got the following error:

  FATA[] Get http:///var/run/docker.sock/v1.18/containers/json: dial
  unix /var/run/docker.sock: permission denied. Are you trying to
  connect to a TLS-enabled daemon without TLS?

  I rebooted to see if it would help, but the error was still there. I
  checked the dmesg log and found the following entry was added when I
  tried to run a docker command:

  [   72.230872] audit: type=1400 audit(1434397079.776:12):
  apparmor="DENIED" operation="connect" info="Failed name lookup -
  disconnected path" error=-13 profile="docker_docker_1.6.1.002"
  name="run/docker.sock" pid=1025 comm="docker.x86_64"
  requested_mask="wr" denied_mask="wr" fsuid=1000 ouid=0

  I tried using the docker command both as a nonprivileged user and
  using "sudo". In both cases I was unable to run the docker command.

  I was able to resolve the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the
  docker framework using the commands:

  sudo snappy remove docker
  sudo snappy install docker

  unprivileged lxc containers fails with custom bridge

Status in lxc package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Using 15.04 x86_64 with all the updates installed.
  I'd like 2 containers to communicate with each other via bridge interface.
For that I've created interface as follows:
  /etc/systemd/network/internalbridge1.netdev:
  [NetDev]
  Name=ibr1
  Kind=bridge

  /etc/lxc/lxc-usernet:
  # USERNAME TYPE BRIDGE COUNT
  x veth ibr1 8

  The 'x' is my username, it's first and only user configured in the
  system so default id map should work fine.

  The container network is configured as follows:
  lxc.network.type = veth
  lxc.network.link = ibr1
  lxc.network.flags = up
  lxc.network.name = internal
  lxc.network.ipv4 = 10.1.8.2/24
  lxc.network.ipv4.gateway = 10.1.8.1

  I've enabled the service and brought the bridge up - showing ok via
  'ip a' and 'brctl show'. Also works fine with priviledged containers.
  However with unpriviledged containers it fails:

  lxc-start -n asterisk -l debug -F --logfile lxc-user.log

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1447654] Re: installing policykit-1 hangs under systemd

2015-07-01 Thread Oldřich Jedlička
I just downloaded the vivid minimal CD and installed it under
VirtualBox. After installation with no packages selected I tried to
install network-manager (apt-get install network-manager) and that one
failed with the error described by others - PolicyKit1 problem.

Bug description:
  I've installed 15.04 using the current amd64 netboot.tar.gz (MD5 =
  6566065bf73a9c81feeddf5520dda122). It installs fine, but I'm getting
  errors installing packages (such as lubuntu-core).

  Last few lines from apt-get:
  Processing triggers for systemd (219-7ubuntu3) ...

  Errors were encountered while processing:
   systemd
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

  I've done a second install using the server iso and lubuntu-core
  installs fine on that. The only thing different was my install media.

  SRU INFORMATION
  ===
  Test case:
  - Boot a minimal VM and purge "apport policykit-1", or do the above netboot
installation.
  - sudo apt-get install policykit-1 apport
  - The above hangs on the systemd triggers and eventually fails in vivid
final. It should succeed fine with this update.

  Regression potential: Very low: polkitd does not keep state, so one
  can restart it fine. The postinst shell modification is simple and
  obvious.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439236] Re: When minimizing window, or for urgent events, the icon from the hidden Launcher doesn't reveal

2015-07-01 Thread motang
So it started working (I noticed it yesterday evening) on my install, I
have Ubuntu 15.10 installed on a Dell notebook, when I minimize apps
with launcher hidden the icon pops out. But I also have Ubuntu 15.10
installed on my desktop in Virtualbox and did a live session with a
daily build where it doesn't work. Just wanted to pass this on.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1460794] Re: systemd does not boot with a separate /usr partition

2015-07-01 Thread Robert Hardy
I dug into this more on the server that failed to upgrade properly to
see if the server would work properly after switching back to systemd.
Please recall this was after a backup and restore with a much simpler
partitioning scheme. It still would not boot.

I ended up finding this line in my fstab:
cgroup/dev/cgroup cgroup  defaults 0   0

This was not a line I added. I believe it may be a remenant from an old release
which the upgrader did not comment out.
The server began its life with Ubuntu 10.04.

Once I commented that cgroup line out the system booted with systemd in
place. Since I doubt this will ever get to a complete state please close
the bug.

Title:
  systemd does not boot with a separate /usr partition

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I recently upgraded a server from 14.10 to 15.04. The upgrade claim to
  have worked but the system could not boot afterwards.

  Basically when you attempt to reboot you end up at an emergency maintenance
prompt early in the boot process.
  After a lot of digging one of the messages in the logs gives:
  systemd[1]: /usr appears to be on its own filesystem and is not already
mounted. This is not a supported setup. Some things will probably break
(sometimes even silently) in mysterious ways. Consult
http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/separate-usr-is-broken

  Basically systemd cannot deal with /usr being on a separate partition.
  That needs to be fixed or systemd should not be used for upgrades with
  a separate /usr partition.

  This is related to bug 1460790 but asking for systemd to actually be fixed.
  Please see bug 1460790 if you are looking for a work around on this issue.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1466290] Re: Update to 3.16

2015-07-01 Thread Tim
This is stuck in proposed due to the webkit2gtk-4.0 dependency. Bug
1469221 is tracking this transition, but there is quite some porting to
be done.

Laney suggested it might be possible to move webkit3get-4.0 into main
for building purposes only and demote the resulting binary packages
(gnome-online-accounts and libgoa-backend-1.0-0) to universe.

However gnome-control-center requires libgoa-backend-1.0-0. g-c-c is
only in main due to the shared data package, so in theory could be
demoted to universe also if the shared data package moved into u-c-c

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1470700] [NEW] QNetworkAccessManager hangs when in flight mode

2015-07-01 Thread James Henstridge
Public bug reported:

When my phone is in flight mode, HTTP requests made using
QNetworkAccessManager seem to hang rather than erroring out immediately.

>From my tests, it looks like the HTTP request is blocked until the
flight mode is disabled and a network connection is reestablished. This
is contrary to the documentation, which states:

"""If the network is not accessible the network access manager will not
process any new network requests, all such requests will fail with an
error. Requests with URLs with the file:// scheme will still be
processed."""

http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qnetworkaccessmanager.html#networkAccessible-prop

By running strace on my test program, it doesn't even look like it
attempts to open a TCP connection when blocked in flight mode.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1470700] Re: QNetworkAccessManager hangs when in flight mode

2015-07-01 Thread James Henstridge
Attached is the test program. I compiled it within the click chroot
using the following command:

arm-linux-gnueabihf-g++ -ggdb -std=c++11 -fPIC -o net-test.arm net-
test.cpp `arm-linux-gnueabihf-pkg-config --cflags --libs Qt5Network`

When run with a URL as an argument, it will attempt to retrieve the
resource every 5 seconds. When in flight mode, I see the process
blocked in poll():

  poll([{fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=7, events=POLLIN}], 2, -1)

Where the two file descriptors are:

  eventfd2(0, O_NONBLOCK|O_CLOEXEC)   = 3
  socket(PF_LOCAL, SOCK_STREAM|SOCK_CLOEXEC, 0) = 7
  connect(7, {sa_family=AF_LOCAL, sun_path="/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket"},
33) = 0

(i.e. the second is a D-Bus connection to the system bus).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1470531] Re: update-directory errors out on missing directory

2015-07-01 Thread Ted Gould
I guess my thought is that the hook, a user hook, should expect the user
directory to be writable or it should throw an error. I think probably a
better solution is that no click user hook should be run on /root. I'd
be surprised if the next one run doesn't throw an error as well if we
fixed this one.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1418040] Re: Calling from car using bluetooth, call is placed on ril_0, even though ril_1 is default

2015-07-01 Thread Gustavo Pichorim Boiko
I guess the problem here is that telephony-service is not involved in the
process of placing the call: that's all done at the ofono level.
When telepathy-ofono (and thus telephony-service) get notified about the call,
it is already placed in the wrong modem.

I don't know how this is handle inside ofono, but maybe there is a way
for us to set a property saying which of the modems should be used when
placing calls via HFP?

  xorg crashes when loading zynaddsubfx (X11 arc rendering bug)

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  This bug also exists in Arch linux. It seems that Xorg crashes
  whenever an arc is drawn. I talked to the main dev of Zyn and he said
  that its a Xorg bug. I also turned off the knob drawing procedure in
  the source and the crashes stopped.

  This is a relevant patch: http://marc.info/?l=freedesktop-xorg-
  devel&m=142850468414906&w=3

  When I open Zyn, my screen turns black and around 20 seconds later my
  login screen shows up.

  I hope you can fix this problem.

  Umcaruje

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1452601] Re: vivid container's networking.service fails on boot with signal=PIPE

2015-07-01 Thread Joseph Bisch
This bug affects gitian-builder when used with lxc. Gitian-builder is
the reproducible build tools used by Bitcoin Core and other projects.
The relevant gitian-builder bug is https://github.com/devrandom/gitian-
builder/issues/95.

I have confirmed this bug with a 15.04 chroot. As you can see from the
gitian-builder issue, GitHub user @droark also experienced the issue
when using 15.04.

The relevant output from my 15.04 chroot:

root@debian:~/gitian-builder# make-clean-vm --suite trusty --arch amd64
sudo: unable to resolve host debian
lxc-execute: conf.c: instantiate_veth: 2660 failed to attach 'vethU5U6JE' to
the bridge 'br0': Operation not permitted

lxc-execute: start.c: lxc_spawn: 914 failed to create the network

  vivid container's networking.service fails on boot with signal=PIPE

  When starting a Vivid container, it fails to get an IP address. It

  reasonably sure this fails 100% of the time. Limited user container,
  very standard setup (no unnecessary config; cgmanager and lxcfs
  installed), btrfs filesystem but not btrfs-backed (as it's limited
  user), ...

now triggered correctly when unplugging my charger.

  Not sure at all which package to file this bug against, hopefully
  someone can help me tag the right package. There is no pm-powersave

  This must be a regression in Vivid, has worked fine in both Trusty and

2015-07-01 Thread Oldřich Jedlička
Just a note for others - installing policykit-1 and then network-manager
works as expected (no reboot in between required).

Title:
  installing policykit-1 hangs under systemd

Status in policykit-1 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in policykit-1 source package in Vivid:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  I've installed 15.04 using the current amd64 netboot.tar.gz (MD5 =
  6566065bf73a9c81feeddf5520dda122). It installs fine, but I'm getting
  errors installing packages (such as lubuntu-core).

  Last few lines from apt-get:
  Processing triggers for systemd (219-7ubuntu3) ...
  Error getting authority: Error initializing authority: Error calling
StartServiceByName for org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1: Timeout was reached
(g-io-error-quark, 24)
  Failed to execute operation: Connection timed out
  dpkg: error processing package systemd (--unpack):
   subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
  Processing triggers for libglib2.0-0:amd64 (2.44.0-1ubuntu3) ...
  Processing triggers for shared-mime-info (1.3-1) ...
  Processing triggers for mime-support (3.58ubuntu1) ...
  Processing triggers for udev (219-7ubuntu3) ...
  Processing triggers for dbus (1.8.12-1ubuntu5) ...
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   systemd
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

  I've done a second install using the server iso and lubuntu-core
  installs fine on that. The only thing different was my install media.

  SRU INFORMATION
  ===

The postinst shell modification is simple and
  obvious.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1246981] Re: Bluetooth mouse fails to re-connect after sleep.

2015-07-01 Thread Martijn Lievaart
Fresh install of 14.04 and another Bluetooth mouse, still the same
issue, only now no workarounds seem to work. I have to reconnect the
mouse after every suspend/resume.

Title:
  Bluetooth mouse fails to re-connect after sleep.

Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  This exact harware was working faultlessly in 13.04. Since re-
  installing at 13.10 the mouse consistently failes to reconnect after
  the device either hybernates or ever goes to screen saver sleep.

  I have to remove the dive and re-add it each time (which works well).

  There are other issues with the bluetooth stack as well in that I have
  not found any way to use bluetooth tethering to my mobile which again
  worked well and was easy to configure in 13.04

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1460794] Re: systemd does not boot with a separate /usr partition

2015-07-01 Thread Martin Pitt
> cgroup /dev/cgroup cgroup defaults 0 0

Erk -- that's what broke the boot after all? Indeed, this was in comment
4 already, but I missed that. So the journal should have a
complaint/timeout on that, as /dev/cgroup is a thing of the distant past
(google still has a few hits). Thanks for finding!

I'm going to poke around in 10.04's and 12.04's packages to see which
one would possibly have added that fstab line.

** Summary changed:

- systemd does not boot with a separate /usr partition
+ boot fails on missing /dev/cgroup fstab entry

** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete => Confirmed

Title:
  boot fails on missing /dev/cgroup fstab entry

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
