Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1567512] Re: i cannot boot
almost 1 and half year was working perfect. From February 2016, updates started broken/failed. last 15 days, every day user screen freezing. No mouse, no keyboard. I am using Live-USB and running below codes. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repairsudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair After these commands I can reboot one time only. When I shutdown or restart laptop, it starts again same process. The SHA ones were removed because the private_* routines above do not exist. And the private_DES_set_key_unchecked was removed so doesn't exist either. They are adding PSS or X931 padding to rsa if requested via a flag. Let me investigate further as to why it was not upstreamed. My original guess was because the upstream openssl-fips module offers new FIPS_rsa_* routines that do this padding. crypto/fips/fips.c, verify_checksums() : This dynamically swaps out a > dlopen()ed libssl.so to libcrypto.so. This smells like a portion of the > upstream OpenSSL approach with using a plugin? As this patch patches the > original library source code, is that still actually needed? > > Yes, this is needed. This is part of the integrity check that is required by fips. We dlopen libcrypto.so and dlsym FIPS_mode_set. I interpreted this as a check to ensure we are running a fips capable libcrypto.so. We get the path to the file and then dlclose. We then compute the hmac of path/libcrypto.so and compare the results against the hmac we ship to verify this is our binary. Same thing is done for libssl.so. We do not yet include the hmac file to check against, so the integrity check fails and prevents running in fips mode. The openssl-fips module does this hmac integrity check of itself and libcrypto.so differently. > Note: I mostly skipped over the fips/*_selftest.c bits, they are both > structurally rather simple and also not verifiable at all for non- > experts in the algorithms. But particularly the reimplemented > RNG (crypto/fips/fips_rand.c) has no author information at all. > Openssl community implements a lot of the fips approved algorithms into the openssl-fips module, rather than into regular openssl. This means for us to acquire some of these fips approved algorithms, we must take them from the openssl-fips module source. The fips_rand* and fips_drbg_* are from the upstream openssl-fips module. They are fips compliant RNGs not offered in regular openssl. When running in non-fips mode can still use regular openssl RNGs. However, when running in fips mode, you must use the fips approved RNGs only. hmmm... latest fips specification update (Jan 2016), only allows DRBG for random number generators now. The PRNGs are no longer allowed in fips mode. So perhaps I should remove fips_rand.c now and not later. So I will remove. crypto/fips does not change hmac, but rather offers an hmac based DRBG. As for RSA, if you are referring to fips_rsa_x931g.c, it is from the upstream openssl-fips module. It provides rsa x931 key generation which is not offered in regular openssl. > crypto/fips/fips_utl.h contains the full definition of functions. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1535058] Re: applications close instantly when launched from the launcher or dash
Mark, thanks for giving it a go. Seems like a large proportion of people are using the Nvidia binary driver (which I knew already having maintained Compiz), and are keeping it installed when they try to test Unity8/Mir. The bad news is we expect this to fail. And possibly should publicize that better (maybe??). The good news is that we have a developer working on adding support for the latest Nvidia binary driver to Mir right now. We expect full support will be completed within months. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535058 Title: applications close instantly when launched from the launcher or dash Status in cgmanager package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in qtmir package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in ubuntu-app-launch package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in unity8-desktop-session package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in upstart package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: xenial applications close instantly when launched from the launcher or dash but... if i launch the apps from a VT (for ex firefox using Xmir or gedit native --), the app loads ok. what close instantly means.. it opens the window and then it closes instantly in ~0.3s To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cgmanager/+bug/1535058/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1413410] Re: Unable to match embedded NULLs in unix bind rule for abstract sockets
Hey Jamie, I'm not sure how this affects snappy, and I'm not sure how to reproduce it in a snappy system. I see that a fix was released to apparmor. The best I could do was: unix bind type=dgram, This is likely going to be important for snappy since snappy will have the concept of different coordinating snaps interacting via abstract sockets. What is interesting is that this seems to work ok for some things, eg: ./lightdm: unix (bind, listen) type=stream addr="@/com/ubuntu/upstart-session/**", ./lightdm: unix (bind, listen) type=stream addr="@/tmp/dbus-*", ./lightdm: unix (bind, listen) type=stream addr="@/tmp/.ICE-unix/[0-9]*", ./lightdm: unix (bind, listen) type=stream addr="@/dbus-vfs-daemon/*", ./lightdm: unix (bind, listen) type=stream addr="@guest*", Is this something in how firefox is setting up the socket? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1535058] Re: applications close instantly when launched from the launcher or dash
Want to mention my struggle to get Unity8 working up up until now. I still cant install apps but i got a lot of issues: First Issues, Login Screen - as soon as i hit enter to login the login box disappeared and nothing else was happening, after 48 hours of research i realised i was using nVidia Binary driver, Mir doesnt like it at all, switched to Xorg open source driver and now i had a desktop. Second Issue, No matter what i clicked on it would close instantly, apps etc, to fix this i did the follow "sudo apt-get install libpam-cgfs" now i could open system settings, however the browser still crashes on load, but now actually opens for a few seconds. I cant install/downloads anything from the app store, i have no terminal etc any suggestions for this? I was able to reproduce the issue in Debian Stretch after applying an Ubuntu specific patch to it. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1563398] Re: Set the front camera as the default for video media requests
This is a useful default (probably for everything apart from photo shooting apps), and will hopefully land in OTA-11 for real. Pat, Olivier: The feature that offers control over which camera an app should use may not need to be hidden inside the browser's settings menu, buried three levels deep in a hierarchy as now. The alternative to a browser "Settings" menu option is of course the "camera" icon in the address bar, as desktop browsers do it. Firefox also has an overlay in the middle of the top edge of the page, in addition. This is something that could appear (and fade away) in both the webbrowser-app and the webapp-container. Maybe. Or something that appears when swiping in with a gesture from one of the edges (bottom edge)? Alexandre: For what I see appear.in does not handle switching cameras via app logic on the mobile web interface. Only native apps seem to do. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1468027] Re: change default CJK fonts to Noto CJK
Not sure. Some fontconfig tracing env vars might be useful for the Skia LegacyCreateTypeface part I guess... * * * In addition to the weight matching problem, the screenshot for Chromium in #113 gives the JP variant instead of TW. Perhaps I should try to get someone to reproduce this in other distros and file a report upstream... Not sure about what the title will be. > Don't Chrome and Chromium care about fontconfig, but do it their own way? Chrome seems to provide some level of per-script font handling[1]. Actually Google Chrome gives a link to an extension called ‘Advanced Font Settings’ (caclkomlalccbpcdllchkeecicepbmbm) in its font menu... [1]: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/fontSettings Regarding the JP problem, it seems that Google Chrome is trying to do the script recognition itself. This happens on my Windows 10 machine too -- Chinese comments on GitHub and Tweets are all rendered using ‘Inziu Roboto JP’, my default Japanese script font set with ‘Advanced Font Settings’. Webpages with explicit language/script declarations like https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-tw/ work fine since they don't need any recognition by Chrome (will anyone confirm this on Ubuntu?) It seems that some Chrome font settings can be pre-hacked by editing webkit.webprefs.fonts. The 'Zyyy' (default script) one found in chrome settings is stored in the file 'Preferences' -- perhaps some settings for other scripts can be filled in here too? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1468027 Title: change default CJK fonts to Noto CJK Status in Ubuntu Seeds: New Status in kubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in language-selector package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in lubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in ubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in xubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: just realize that fonts-noto-cjk is available in the repository, finally its packaged. i don't really know about korean community. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1566657] Re: [apt] implement --yes
The apt(8) manpage doesn't list any options (okay, it mentions a selected few, but it has no long list like the other manpages). It lists only subcommands like 'install' or 'show' and refers the reader to the manpage of apt-get or apt-cache or whatever for details because repeating the very same options would not only be a big duplication, but also a freaking long manpage nobody will ever read AND it will also be confusing because the hundreds of options in such a manpage would apply each only to a selected few of the subcommands. So, yeah, the user will have to read the manpages of the underlying applications he or she is pointed to be the apt manpages – but given the potential alternative of lumping all manpages into a single big one, that feels like a feature. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1566657 Title: [apt] implement --yes Status in apt package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Please implement the option '--yes' (known from apt-get) in apt itself. As already documented in https://bugs.launchpad.net/mos/+bug/1501738 there is a bug in the default libnl library release installed on Ubuntu 14.04.4 The library release is the 3.2.21-1 and the bug is impacting on the maximum VFs number that can be enabled (up to 30) even if the PF supports up to 63 VFs in an Openstack SRIOV configuration The workaround is to install a newer library release, the 3.2.24-2: wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/libnl-3-200_3.2.24-2_amd64.deb wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/libnl-genl-3-200_3.2.24-2_amd64.deb wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/libnl-route-3-200_3.2.24-2_amd64.deb dpkg -i libnl-3-200_3.2.24-2_amd64.deb dpkg -i libnl-genl-3-200_3.2.24-2_amd64.deb dpkg -i libnl-route-3-200_3.2.24-2_amd64.deb ** Affects: libnl3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: 14.04.4 libnl nova-compute openstack sriov ubuntu vf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to libnl3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1567578 Title: libnl should be updated to support up to 63 VFs per single PF Status in libnl3 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ubuntu 14.04.4 and SRIOV settings. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1545802] Re: activeFocus not being forwarded to TextInput inside TextField
That should not make a difference, as far as I know. FocusScope redirects focus to the last child who requested it. I believe in this case, the problem might be that something is setting focus:false on the QQuickTextInput. When you do that, the FocusScope does not know whom to redirect the focus to anymore, as far I know. And that would explain why nothing is happening. So, in the beginning TextInput has focus true, so when TextField is focused it redirects the focus to QQuickTextInput. Then somehow QQuickTextInput focus is set to false. The next time TextField is focused, it doesn't redirect the focus to QQuickTextInput because it is actually *not* asking for focus (i.e. it's focus property is false). Hope that helps :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-ui-toolkit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545802 Title: activeFocus not being forwarded to TextInput inside TextField Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Haven’t managed to reproduce with a standalone example yet, but I can reliably reproduce the following issue with the browser app on a tablet with a bluetooth keyboard connected (this needs to be on a tablet so that the wide layout of the app is used, for example with a Nexus 7 (flo) in landscape orientation): 1) launch the browser app with a bluetooth keyboard attached and ensure that the current tab is not a new tab 2) press Ctrl+T to open a new tab Expected result: the address bar gets active focus so that the user can start entering a URL right away Current result: the address bar gets active focus for a fraction of a second, then looses it.
