[Touch-packages] [Bug 857651] Re: Unable to hide users from login screen / user switcher
I was made aware in bug #1667113 that this seems to be the root bug to dup this onto. I know this comes down to accountsservice, as others not using it like sddm are just fine. I couldn't get music playing over my sound system, there was only a small bit of noise, less then when the cable isn't plugged in at all. Anyway eventually I managed to fix it but this is what I tried first: - `sudo alsa force-reload` - `sudo pulseaudio -k` - `pulseaudio -k` - Turned everything on in `alsamixer` - Rebooted my laptop once Most of the time the fix can be done from the GUI of "All Settings > Sound". Sometimes I have to swap between Input back and forth but this time I had to unmute "Alert volume" in the "Sound Effects" tab. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1717769] Re: day of week in german despite i configured the system in english
Hi, I don't think it is about a wrongly translated string, but more about the combination of regional choices that makes the langage mecanism choose the locale in german (all my interface is in right english but my calendar and days of weeks in softwares). I guess it is something because of: - in Belgium we have 3 official languages: Dutch, German, French - I chose in my settings english language with Belgium format and Belgian keyboard - so maybe since there is no english locales for belgium, maybe the code is written to go by default for german locales strings What do you think? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1743259] Re: 3D acceleration stops working after kernel upgrade
I tested this on a non-Libreboot (i.e., stock Lenovo BIOS) ThinkPad X200s. Exactly the same problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1743259 Title: 3D acceleration stops working after kernel upgrade Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have a Thinkpad X200. I installed Ubunntu 16.04.3. It works fine immediately after installation (kernel 4.10.0-28). But when I install updates (kernel 4.13, post Meltdown/Spectre), it starts to behave weirdly: WHAT HAPPENS: All Unity eye-candies stop to work and cause a session refresh. I mean, when I press Alt (HUD), or Super (Dash), or even when I hover my mouse over an icon on the launcher the system goes through a mini-crash: all elements on the screen disappear for ~2 seconds, and they come back again. I never see HUD, Dash, or the laucher tooltip that I intended to see. POSSIBLE PROBLEM: Is it safe to say 3D accleration has stopped working after kernel update? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1744496] Re: Cursor flickering using DisplayLink and USB Monitor
sevku, please don't mark other bugs duplicates of this one, or adjust the title/Bug Description. Regarding your question: >"How do I properly report them?" File a new report via a terminal: ubuntu-bug xorg >"How do I use the gnome flashback package?" Install it, reboot, and it should be an option when you want to login. ** Summary changed: - Cursor flickering using DisplayLink and USB Monitor + Cursor flickering using HP EliteDisplay S140u USB Portable Monitor ** Description changed: When using the HP EliteDisplay S140u USB Display on my Lenovo T430s, the cursor is flickering on the Built-In laptop screen, when the other screen is connected. The flickering mainly occurs, when the cursor is hovering over the program header or the upper ubuntu status bar (black bar on top). - - I have seen this bug has been reported many times, I myself have easily - found 3 reports from several versions of Ubuntu, I would highly - appreciate if this could finally be fixed. - - Also, related to that, the CPU rises to 100% quite quickly and the - Computer crashes completely. It's enough to open a browser, then a file - explorer, and trying to open a pdf from the file explorer. This only - happens when the display is connected. I will file another bug report - for this. I am also having problems updating the kernel, which seems to be the same cause of the crash of the installer: here is some information: wuesand@wuesand-ESPRIMO-P1510:~/projects/kde/ansible$ sudo fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 465,8 GiB, 500107862016 bytes, 976773168 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: dos Disk identifier: 0x241c6624 Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sda1 * 2048 390625279 390623232 186,3G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT /dev/sda2 390625280 39081983919456095M 83 Linux /dev/sda3 390819840 586131455 195311616 93,1G 83 Linux /dev/sda4 586133502 976771071 390637570 186,3G 5 Extended /dev/sda5 586133504 586717183583680 285M 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda6 586719232 976771071 390051840 186G 83 Linux wuesand@wuesand-ESPRIMO-P1510:~/projects/kde/ansible$ sudo mount sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime) proc on /proc type proc (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime) udev on /dev type devtmpfs (rw,nosuid,relatime,size=4042808k,nr_inodes=1010702,mode=755) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,nosuid,noexec,relatime,gid=5,mode=620,ptmxmode=000) tmpfs on /run type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,noexec,relatime,size=813128k,mode=755) /dev/sda3 on / type ext4 (rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro,data=ordered) securityfs on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid, nodev) tmpfs on /run/lock type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,size=5120k) tmpfs on /sys/fs/cgroup type tmpfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,mode=755) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd type cgroup (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,xattr,release_agent=/lib/systemd/systemd-cgroups-agent,name=systemd) pstore on /sys/fs/pstore type pstore (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/cpu,cpuacct type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, cpu, cpuacct) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/cpuset type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, cpuset) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/devices type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, devices) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/net_cls,net_prio type cgroup (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,net_cls,net_prio) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/freezer type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, freezer) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/perf_event type cgroup (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,perf_event) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/hugetlb type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, hugetlb) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/blkio type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, blkio) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/pids type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, pids) cgroup on /sys/fs/cgroup/memory type cgroup (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime, memory) systemd-1 on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type autofs (rw,relatime,fd=34,pgrp=1,timeout=0,minproto=5,maxproto=5,direct,pipe_ino=3715) debugfs on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw,relatime) mqueue on /dev/mqueue type mqueue (rw,relatime) hugetlbfs on /dev/hugepages type hugetlbfs (rw,relatime) fusectl on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw,relatime) /dev/sda2 on /boot type ext2 (rw,relatime,block_validity,barrier,user_xattr,acl) /dev/sda6 on /home type ext4 (rw,relatime, data=ordered) tmpfs on /run/user/119 type tmpfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, relatime, siz

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1662042] Re: Black screen after resuming from sleep with nvidia drivers on 16.04
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1662042 Title: Black screen after resuming from sleep with nvidia drivers on 16.04 Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: This happens on an ASUS ZenBook UX303UB, with nvidia-375 installed. I'm able to connect to the host through SSH. I have run the apport-bug tool when the display was black. The problem is not present when I switch back to using the Intel GPU using Nvidia's tool (through nvidia-prime). So far, I have done the following tests, following reports from other users: - Switched to kernel 4.8 - Tried with both nvidia-370 and nvidia-375 - Tried with fix to backlight (http://askubuntu.com/questions/820955/blank-screen-after-resume-dell-m5510-ubuntu-16-04/823523) - Configured ligthdm idle-timeout to 3 seconds and see if the display came back (due to an old bug affecting older versions) Bumblebee is not installed. I have seen several issues / questions that seems similar to this one, but I couldn't find a solution / workaround, other than disabling Nvidia's GPU. I appreciate any help to debug this. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1744541] [NEW] Ubuntu 16.04 LTS crashing using DisplayLink and external USB display
Public bug reported: I am trying to use the HP EliteDisplay S140u external USB display, therefore I have installed DisplayLink softwares.
