[Touch-packages] [Bug 1724250] Re: gnome-terminal graphic artifact
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1718238 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1718238 ok I can confirm that from my work machine turning the "application menu" on from gnome tweak tool fixes it. If I turn it off the artefact shows up again. It happens in real time as I toggle the switch. If I type "echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE" it says x11. Not sure about my home machine. I'll have to report back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to humanity-icon-theme in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724250 Title: gnome-terminal graphic artifact Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: New Status in gnome-terminal package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in humanity-icon-theme package in Ubuntu: New Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Opening gnome-terminal in Ubuntu 17.10 shows the terminal window with a graphic artifact on the right of the title bar, where the window buttons to minimize, maximize and close are. It does not matter whether the gnome-terminal window is maximized or not, the graphic artifact is always present and does not disappear hovering on it with the mouse. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1676547] Re: No network connectivity (NIC unmanaged) after upgrade
I just had the same problem... I installed Ubuntu server 17.10 on a freshly formatted disk. During the install I was asked to configure the wired interface. Ok After that I installed the meta-package ubuntu-desktop and re-booted. No wired interface available in NetworkManager. Wireless is ok. I had to change "/etc/netplan/01-netcfg.yaml" from: # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # For more information, see netplan(5). network: version: 2 renderer: networkd ethernets: enp3s0: dhcp4: yes to: # Let NetworkManager manage all devices on this system network: version: 2 renderer: NetworkManager All is well after a reboot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1676547 Title: No network connectivity (NIC unmanaged) after upgrade Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in network-manager source package in Yakkety: Fix Released Status in network-manager source package in Zesty: Fix Released Bug description: Impact -- When upgrading from Xenial (with all updates installed) to Yakkety/Zesty you will boot to a system without networking - sad! Regression Potential Any failure to manage ethernet or wireless devices after upgrade, or issues with the use of netplan in conjunction with NetworkManager should be investigated as potential regressions. For example, if after upgrading, ethernet devices are no longer managed, or if devices that should be explicitly ignored by NetworkManager due to existing user configuration are now managed, these would indicate a possible regression caused by this update. The details of the bug are covered here in this thread (http://oss.clusterlabs.org/pipermail/pacemaker/2014-May/021689.html) but to summarise, the Pacemaker developers believe the leak is caused by the g_dbus API, the use of which was removed in Pacemaker 1.11. I've also attached the Valgrind output from the run that exposed the issue. Given that this issue affects production stability (a periodic restart of Pacemaker is required), will a version of 1.11 be released for Trusty? (I'm happy to upgrade the OS to Trusty to get it). If not, can you advise which version of the OS will be the first to take 1.11 please? I didn't know about a similar behavior in 17.10 and before. ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- Missing man pages of all packages which offer some https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1747303 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apt in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Touch-packages] [Bug 1747307] [NEW] Wi-Fi networks list is empty after resume from suspend
Public bug reported: After the laptop has resumed from suspend, there are no Wi-Fi networks listed in the network manager applet. The connection still works but the applet shows the Ethernet connection icon. Steps to reproduce: 1) close the laptop lid to enter suspend (or click "suspend" in the system menu in the upper panel) 2) re-open the laptop lid, resuming the laptop from suspend, unlock the screen 3) check the network manager applet, no Wi-Fi networks are listed, disabling and re-enabling Wi-Fi doesn't help This is a problem because it isn't possible to connect to another Wi-Fi network. The problem disappears if i run: sudo systemctl restart network-manager.service as described here: https://askubuntu.com/a/761220, however, the systemd unit file solution suggested in the same answer doesn't work, probably due to a timing issue (the command is run too early and the Wi-Fi card is not ready). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1747220] Re: unsatisfied dependencies installing libjack-jackd2-dev
Thanks for reporting. Based on the version number offered (2:1.9.12-1~zzartful2), this sounds like it comes from a PPA. It doesn't seem to match the official Ubuntu packages at least (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jackd2). Could you please run `sudo apt update`, and if the problem persists, check `apt policy libjack-jackd2-dev libjack-jackd2-0`. This will tell you which package versions are available and where they can be installed from. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. ** Changed in: jackd2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: artful unmetdeps -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to jackd2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1747220 Title: unsatisfied dependencies installing libjack-jackd2-dev Status in jackd2 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have a broken package message in Ubuntu 17.10 when trying to install libjack-jackd2-dev: (text from console translated from spanish): The following packages has broken links: libjack-jackd2-dev : Depends: libjack-jackd2-0 (= 1.9.10+20150825git1ed50c92~dfsg-5ubuntu1) but 2:1.9.12-1~zzartful2 is going to be installed E: Fatal errors couldn't be repaired, broken packages retained. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1586528] Re: Avahi-daemon withdraws address record
This is an update to my previous post, correcting an error of mine - I think that the extra "dhclient" threads were created by the script that was meant to be diagnosing the fault, not by NetworkManager. Consequently, some of the reasoning was not valid. However, it may still be true that physical network errors are contributing to the problem. I shall wait and see what happens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1586528 Title: Avahi-daemon withdraws address record Status in avahi package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: For some reason, if I leave my Ubuntu VM up for a prolonged period of time the machine will lose connection to the network. ip addr shows that the nic port no longer has an address and an examination of the syslog shows this: May 27 14:19:38 matt-VirtualBox avahi-daemon[590]: Withdrawing address record for 10.0.2.15 on enp0s3. Even worse, when this happens, you can briefly see your login password in plaintext in the virtual terminal. You can see the password however long you want if you stop the gdm service when this happens. I don't have a good way to reproduce, but it seems locking the session with a keyboard shortcut, subsequently unlocking it, maybe suspending, at some point brings this behaviour into the picture, until the session dies with a Ctrl+C. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1747268] [NEW] No sound when connecting headphones or external speakers to my laptop [TravelMate P648-M, Intel Skylake HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all
Public bug reported: The sound works fine except when I connect either speakers or headphones (stereo jack) to my laptop, then there is no sound. When I disconnect them it sounds normal. I checked the alsamixer, no channel is muted. The system doesn't seem to notice that I have plugged something in, since the sound settings "output" does not change to "speakers" or similar (as it did in my old computer).
