[Touch-packages] [Bug 1995048] Re: reboot reboots system when --poweroff is passed
** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1995048 Title: reboot reboots system when --poweroff is passed Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Bug description: The feature of passing "--poweroff" to the reboot command to "Power- off the machine, regardless of which one of the three commands is invoked." is broken. Either that or the man page is. This doesn't matter much to me anymore now that I found out that you can also pass "-f" to "poweroff" when debugging, but it confused me a lot at first. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS Release: 22.04 $ apt-cache policy systemd-sysv systemd-sysv: Installed: 249.11-0ubuntu3.6 Candidate: 249.11-0ubuntu3.6 Version table: *** 249.11-0ubuntu3.6 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 249.11-0ubuntu3 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/main amd64 Packages # Expected behaviour The system to power off. # Actual behaviour The system reboots. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-09-19 (39 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20220809.1) Lsusb: Bus 001 Device 002: ID 80ee:0021 VirtualBox USB Tablet Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Lsusb-t: /: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=ohci-pci/12p, 12M |__ Port 1: Dev 2, If 0, Class=Human Interface Device, Driver=usbhid, 12M MachineType: innotek GmbH VirtualBox Package: systemd 249.11-0ubuntu3.6 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: TERM=linux PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.15.0-52-generic root=UUID=11e9994e-8b05-42e7-949a-2f635b160285 ro text debug ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-52.58-generic 5.15.60 Tags: jammy Uname: Linux 5.15.0-52-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 12/01/2006 dmi.bios.vendor: innotek GmbH dmi.bios.version: VirtualBox dmi.board.name: VirtualBox dmi.board.vendor: Oracle Corporation dmi.board.version: 1.2 dmi.chassis.type: 1 dmi.chassis.vendor: Oracle Corporation dmi.modalias: dmi:bvninnotekGmbH:bvrVirtualBox:bd12/01/2006:svninnotekGmbH:pnVirtualBox:pvr1.2:rvnOracleCorporation:rnVirtualBox:rvr1.2:cvnOracleCorporation:ct1:cvr:sku: dmi.product.family: Virtual Machine dmi.product.name: VirtualBox dmi.product.version: 1.2 dmi.sys.vendor: innotek GmbH To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1995048/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1713313] Re: Unable to launch pkexec'ed applications on Wayland session
I'm really new to the "bug"(?) and a bit overwhelmed about all the information here. The last post is over one year ago but the ticket is still open. Can someone please give a summary about the current state of the problem and maybe a workaround. I'm not sure but it seems to me that this really fresh upstream ticket (reported by me as one of the upstream maintainers) for "backintime" is related to it. https://github.com/bit-team/backintime/issues/1348 Can you confirm that this upstream ticket is related to the launchpad ticket here? ** Bug watch added: BackInTime Issues #1348 https://github.com/bit-team/backintime/issues/1348 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gdebi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1713313 Title: Unable to launch pkexec'ed applications on Wayland session Status in Back In Time: Fix Released Status in Boot-Info: Fix Released Status in Boot-Repair: Fix Released Status in GNOME Terminal: New Status in HPLIP: New Status in LightDM GTK Greeter Settings: New Status in OS-Uninstaller: Fix Released Status in Y PPA Manager: New Status in apport package in Ubuntu: New Status in apt-offline package in Ubuntu: New Status in backintime package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in budgie-welcome package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in caja-admin package in Ubuntu: New Status in cinnamon package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in ettercap package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gdebi package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gdm3 package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Status in gnunet-gtk package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gparted package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in gui-ufw package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in guidedog package in Ubuntu: New Status in hplip package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in italc package in Ubuntu: New Status in laptop-mode-tools package in Ubuntu: New Status in lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in nautilus-admin package in Ubuntu: New Status in needrestart-session package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in nemo package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in policykit-1 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in scanmem package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in scap-workbench package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in sirikali package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in synaptic package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in thunar package in Ubuntu: New Status in tuned package in Ubuntu: New Status in ubuntustudio-controls package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in update-notifier package in Ubuntu: New Status in xdiagnose package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in xubuntu-default-settings package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in zulucrypt package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: * Main upstream discussion & fixes example to deal with wayland: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=776437 * Steps to reproduce: 1. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1960583] Re: dpkg error while processing - can't install nor upgrade
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1960582 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960582 I guess i have found the root cause of this issue. When running the upgrade from 20.04 LTS to 22.04 LTS with terminal with this command : ``` sudo do-release-upgrade -d ``` it has an option for users to choose from whether to keep the old configuration file of ``` Configuration file '/etc/sysctl.conf' ==> Modified (by you or a script) since installation ==> Package distribution has shipped an updated version. What would you like to do about it ? Your options are : Y or I : Install the package maintainer's version N or O : keep your currently-installed version D: show the different between the versions Z: start a shell to examine the situation The default action is to keep your current version. *** sysctl.conf (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ? ``` (screenshot attached in this post) If you choose N, the system will get the error (described in this ticket) with the update and upgrade process in the 22.04 LTS version. Hope someone can do the actual test with this to verify.
