[Touch-packages] [Bug 1977689] Re: Wrong error msg: "state file /var/lib/logrotate/status is world-readable" although it is not
Hello, I think this commit [1] (3.17.0) introduced a security problem to which it was assigned CVE-2022-1348 [2]. They fixed it in [3] (3.20.0) and [4] (3.20.1). Although I see you've pulled from debian/sid the patched version, I don't think you have ever pushed those patches to jammy/devel. May I request to release a package with the fix? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1624320] Re: systemd-resolved appends 127.0.0.53 to resolv.conf alongside existing entries
I also think it is a blocker. I am a non technical user, I have lost one working day for this bug. Dns resolution should work out of the box! I solved following the instruction in this post - not even sure it is the best fix, for now it seems to work. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/665374 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1624320 Title: systemd-resolved appends 127.0.0.53 to resolv.conf alongside existing entries Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: systemd-resolved, or more precisely the hook script /lib/systemd/system/systemd-resolved.service.d/resolvconf.conf, causes resolvconf to add 127.0.0.53 to the set of nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf alongside the other nameservers. That makes no sense because systemd-resolved sets up 127.0.0.53 as a proxy for those other nameservers. The effect is similar to bug 1624071 but for applications doing their own DNS lookups. It breaks any DNSSEC validation that systemd-resolved tries to do; applications will failover to the other nameservers, bypassing validation failures. And it makes failing queries take twice as long. /etc/resolv.conf should have only 127.0.0.53 when systemd-resolved is active. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1710637] Re: Input falls through to gdm3 and terminates the session on Ctrl+C after udevadm trigger is executed under wayland
can this be fixed also for 16.04? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1710637 Title: Input falls through to gdm3 and terminates the session on Ctrl+C after udevadm trigger is executed under wayland Status in Snappy: Won't Fix Status in console-setup package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gdm3 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: = Test Cases = Test Case 1: - Login under Wayland (session Ubuntu) - Open a terminal - snap install gimp - Wait until installation finishes successfully - In the terminal window press CTRL+C Result: - Expected: ^C is displayed in the terminal and the prompt is at the start of a new line - Actual: The session is terminated and the login screen is displayed Test Case 2: - Login under Wayland (session Ubuntu) - Open a terminal and type the following command: $ sudo udevadm trigger - In the terminal window press CTRL+C Result - Expected: ^C is displayed in the terminal and the prompt is at the start of a new line - Actual: The session is terminated and the login screen is displayed = Original Description = Multiple times a day I find myself without a session after hitting Ctrl+C in a terminal, it seems the input falls through the Ubuntu/GNOME session and to gdm, which itself decides to terminate. Even worse, when this happens, you can briefly see your login password in plaintext in the virtual terminal. You can see the password however long you want if you stop the gdm service when this happens. I don't have a good way to reproduce, but it seems locking the session with a keyboard shortcut, subsequently unlocking it, maybe suspending, at some point brings this behaviour into the picture, until the session dies with a Ctrl+C. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1598300] Re: CUPS web interface stops responding after a while
Hi! I have same problem. Ubuntu 16.04.1. When login in localhost:631, to work with printer's, after some minutes, cups go down, and i see with sudo service cups status, he is inactive. Problem occur only when logged on web interface, else no. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598300 Title: CUPS web interface stops responding after a while Status in cups package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in cups source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Bug description: after 6 minutes or so, cups is not responding. it do not produce error on the log, just stop working, worse, it exit with 0 ⌌—⌍ |root@cupsmachine :~# systemctl status cups | |● cups.service - CUPS Scheduler | | Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/cups.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)| | Active: inactive (dead) since ven. 2016-07-01 10:31:32 TAHT; 2min 16s ago | | Docs: man:cupsd(8) | | Process: 28686 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/cupsd -l (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)| | Main PID: 28686 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) | | | |juil. 01 10:30:01 appli-client systemd[1]: Started CUPS Scheduler. | ⌎—⌏ I got to launch it again, so I have finish with a cron job like */10 * * * * systemctl status cups.service|grep -q 'inactive (dead)' && systemctl start cups but it is a dirty solution. I have no idea of what make it stop. NB: I have seen problems related to apparmor, this machine has no apparmor package. [Impact] If you want to use the CUPS web interface in Xenial and therefore set "WebInterface Yes" in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, CUPS could auto-shutdown when it is idle and then an attempt to access http://localhost:631/ via a web browser fails. People get confused as other access to CUPS [Testcase] Take a CUPS setup on Xenial with no shared print queues and CUPS only listening on the domain socket. Activate the web interface via cupsctl WebInterface=Yes Now you are able to access the web interface via http://localhost:631/. Wait for some minutes without accessing CUPS until the CUPS daemon shuts down automatically. Try to open the web interface again and it will not work. With the fixed CUPS package CUPS will not auto-shutdown when the web interface is activated. [Regression Potential] Low, as we are removing a simple distro patch to get back to the original, upstream behavior. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1489329] Re: MX4 GPS doesn't work at all
in my device (Aquaris E5) GPS stopped working after OTA-13 update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to location-service in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1489329 Title: MX4 GPS doesn't work at all Status in Canonical System Image: Confirmed Status in location-service package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When using location for navigation, GPS is essential. Location can also be based on Wifi or phone network, but accuracy for that is insufficient for driving/geocaching/any application except nearby restaurants. I can currently only get a location based on wifi / phone network. If I disable this feature, I get no location at all. Not after reboot, not sometimes, not ever. Trying to do: Navigate using GPS and/or network What I expect: Accuracy is high with all location services on. It decreases slightly when network based location is switched off. It decreases sharply when only GPS is switched off. What happens: Accuracy is very low (30m - 2000m) with all location services on. Location is impossible when network based location is switched off. It doesn't make a difference if I switch the GPS on or off. This may be a hardware issue, and I'll probably be sending in my phone (MX4) for check/repair, but that would mean missing my phone. I'd much rather troubleshoot myself. I already have location test and sensorsstatus to monitor this, but I want to know more about if the chip is functioning. Which logs are relevant? I've thought about flashing android on and seeing if that helps (which makes it a software issue), or doesn't (which makes it a hardware issue). Is there an easier way to get an answer to the software/hardware question? Thanks! Thanks Olivier for your time and patience, I really appreciate. Installed the package 'qtdeclarative5-ubuntu-content1' and its dependencies. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1462712] Re: Sony Vaio Pro webcam does not work in most of the apps with libjpeg-turbo8-1.3.0-0ubuntu2
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1295247 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1295247 Hi, I found a workaround for this bug on my SVP1321C5E. Opening cheese gives the exact same error: libv4l2: error got 4 consecutive frame decode errors, last error: v4l-convert: libjpeg error: End Of Image. I solved it by opening the preferences and changing the resolution for pictures and videos: default was 1280x720, I changed both of them to 640x480. I then closed Cheese and opened it again, and everything was working fine. I haven't tested any other application (Skype, ...). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to libjpeg-turbo in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1462712 Title: Sony Vaio Pro webcam does not work in most of the apps with libjpeg- turbo8-1.3.0-0ubuntu2 Status in libjpeg-turbo package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm using Ubuntu 15.04. The version of libjpeg-turbo8 is 1.3.0-0ubuntu2. Expected: A video picture from the webcam. What happens instead: The output is just a garbled picture or sometimes the green screen. For example, cheese fails with: libv4l2: error got 4 consecutive frame decode errors, last error: v4l-convert: libjpeg error: End Of Image The webcam (ID 0bda:5793 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.) has MJPG as one of the formats. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1517348] Re: Xorg freeze on DELL XPS13 L322X Ubuntu 15.10
Dear Christopher, thank you for your reply. I have updated the BIOS with what appeared to be the newest version available from Dell. I now get > sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date A10 08/28/2013 I did not experience any freeze for a short while (one full day, while my laptop was plugged into power). Today, while my laptop was running on battery power I experienced the first freeze since the BIOS upgrade. It appears identical to what I used to have before upgrade (i.e. not only the laptop does not respond, to keyboard/trackpad, but the screen displays some strange pattern, cfr. the image attached to my first bug report). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1517348 Title: Xorg freeze on DELL XPS13 L322X Ubuntu 15.10 Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Since the upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10 I am experiencing frequent freezes. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1390625] Re: mouse cursor gets corrupted
The xserver-xorg installiation fixes the issue but, in my case, it introduces another issue. A great number of artifacts, little white or black horizontal lines sometimes appear/disappear on the screen in relation with the mouse movement. The solution of changing the intel method of accelleration to uxa works too, but it has the same side effects. I suspect that installing xserver-xorg in some way changes the accelleration to uxa... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1390625 Title: mouse cursor gets corrupted Status in elementary OS: Confirmed Status in Mesa: New Status in Unity: Invalid Status in unity package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in xorg-lts-utopic package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: In Ubuntu 14.10, the mouse cursor graphic gets corrupted under certain occasions. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1314361] Re: [20ARA0S100, Intel Haswell HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all
I have the same problem on a Lenovo Edge e540. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314361 Title: [20ARA0S100, Intel Haswell HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Audio works on internal speakers and headphones using card 1 (HDA Intel PCH). But pavucontrol will let me choose HDMI even though it appears under aplay -l and under /proc/asound things look ok to me. Also note: this is a laptop on a Thinkpad Ultradock with the HDMI plugged into the dock. I note that alsa driver does not detect the audio line out on the dock and there is no way to play through that channel. I'm not sure that this is related, but perhaps has to do with some lack of support for the dock?
