Title:
   console-setup installation hangs

Status in console-setup package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: console-setup

  Doing a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 Server amd64 from an .iso download
today from the primary site.
  I am getting to the point where it says:

  Setting up console-setup (1.34ubuntu15)

  It just hangs there, I can't get into other console, when I hit enter,
  I never get a prompt.

  If I don't hear anything I will try looking for a daily .iso or
  something, because it looks like this issue was fixed in bug #564360

  Keyboard settings in /etc/default/console-setup are being ignored

Status in console-setup package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: console-setup

  I Jaunty I used to set my keyboard variant settings in /etc/default
  /console-setup as a workaround to it not being available in UIs since
  Hardy (as per Bug #359719 ). Now since the upgrade to Karmic, I not
  only have to use setxkbmap everytime I login, but also if I switch to
  the console and back to X.

  Also, the console is not using the layout set in /etc/default/console-
  setup, so it appears this file is being ignored in my laptop.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1553147] Re: xenial preseed cannot set keyboard layout

2016-06-01 Thread Artit Thongsupan

   Status: Incomplete => Fix Released

You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu

Title:
  xenial preseed cannot set keyboard layout

Status in console-setup package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Using network booted preseed with the following lines to configure
  keyboard layout:

  d-i console-setup/ask_detect false
  d-i keyboard-configuration/layoutcode string de
  d-i keyboard-configuration/layout select German
  d-i keyboard-configuration/modelcode string pc105

  System comes up with US keyboard only (see screenshot).

  Content of /etc/default/keyboard:
  XKBMODEL="pc105"
  XKBLAYOUT=""
  XKBVARIANT=""
  XKBOPTIONS=""
  BACKSPACE="guess"

  Content of /etc/default/console-setup:
  ACTIVE_CONSOLES="/dev/tty[1-6]"
  CHARMAP="UTF-8"
  CODESET="guess"
  FONTFACE="Fixed"
  FONTSIZE="8x16"
  VIDEOMODE=

  The same preseed file works on wily and successfully configures a
  German keyboard layout.

  The full preseed file can be found at
  https://github.com/jschule/ubuntu/blob/gh-pages/preseed/jts.txt

  Please advice how to set German keyboard layout with preseed
  installation.
