I am getting to the point where it says: Setting up console-setup (1.34ubuntu15) It just hangs there, I can't get into other console, when I hit enter, I never get a prompt. If I don't hear anything I will try looking for a daily .iso or something, because it looks like this issue was fixed in bug #564360 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/console-setup/+bug/564360 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/console-setup/+bug/592457/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Now since the upgrade to Karmic, I not only have to use setxkbmap everytime I login, but also if I switch to the console and back to X. Also, the console is not using the layout set in /etc/default/console- setup, so it appears this file is being ignored in my laptop.
