[Touch-packages] [Bug 1579782] [NEW] UITK documentation has always the same namespace

2016-05-09 Thread Benjamin Zeller
Public bug reported:

The generated documentation for QtCreator always uses the namespace
com.canonical.ubuntuuitoolkit.0.1, however QtC would only register this
namespace once, because it assumes all other existing versions are the same.

The correct approach would be to use a version number bound to UITK
releases.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1549244] [NEW] Bottomedge does not commit if completely moved up with the mouse

2016-02-24 Thread Benjamin Zeller
Public bug reported:

In some cases a BottomEdge move is never commited, leaving the Page in a state
where the user can not return and/or the header still shows "Revealed"
instead of "Commited"

To reproduce:

1. Start Gallery
2. Open the Bottom Edge page
3. Enable Mouse
4. Move the BottomEdge completely to the top and release

The BottomEdge needs to be moved up completely so that the animation does not
need to change
anything.

I can safely reproduce it after doing it 2 or 3 times.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1505597] Re: IconAndLink.qml:39:5: QML QQuickImage: Invalid image provider: image://scaling/1//

2015-11-30 Thread Benjamin Zeller
Adding ubuntu-ui-toolkit to the affected packages.
This should be fixed in the toolkit ultimately because mixing different QML
toolkits will be common
at least on desktop (using Qt Controls)

The bug fix is to add

  import Ubuntu.Components 1.2

  to

  /usr/ubuntu-sdk-ide/share/qtcreator/welcomescreen/widgets/IconAndLin
  k.qml

Otherwise there is a race in loading the image provider depending on
other code. This is expected because the loader is part of the UITK.

I can't use the phone right now, since I can't launch apps from the app

This all started after I played a bit with QtCreator because I'm developing a
scope for the contest.
I don't know exactly which files to attach, meanwhile there's
~/.cache/upstart/scope-register.log.
Tell me if you need more information.

Thanks in advance for the help,

  Potential steps to reproduce:
  - run a custom scope from QtCreator
  - add that scope to favorites
  - close QtCreator

This seems to leave the phone in a state where it can't load the
scopes any more. The below helps to clear this again:

  $ gsettings reset com.canonical.Unity.Dash favorite-scopes

This is not a qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu bug. If that property is marked

Nothing wrong with that.

Forwarding to UITK.

In fact, "image" property exists in Ubuntu.Components 1.1, and it does
not exist in Ubuntu.Components 1.2. If I use "source" instead of
"image", I have to change to use Ubuntu.Components 1.2. Otherwise,
there I cannot run my app since "source" does not exist in the
  Ubuntu.Components 1.1 at all.

We need to dump the correct warning message according to the
Ubuntu.Components version. Otherwise, a developer changes the code,
but it may not run in the previous version of the phones. In some
case, it just simply causes some confusion.

  Best regards,

Any sane IDE should be able to handle stale lock files--such a thing
should not prevent the application from starting.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1452956] Re: Stale lock file causes QtCreator to freeze when starting

2015-05-08 Thread Benjamin Zeller
Seems this is related to a regression introduced by this bugfix to Qt:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-21739

** Package changed: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) => qtcreator (Ubuntu)

Title:
Stale lock file causes QtCreator to freeze when starting

Status in qtcreator package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I was debugging why my ubuntu-sdk instance would not start up (it
instead freezes indefinitely) when I noticed a stale lock file under
~/.config. I removed this file and the IDE started.

  To reproduce:

  1. Execute the following from the terminal: touch
~/.config/QtProject/QtCreator.ini.lock
  2. Start qtcreator or ubuntu-sdk.

Expected results: The IDE starts as expected
Actual results: The IDE hangs indefinitely

Any sane IDE should be able to handle stale lock files--such a thing
should not prevent the application from starting.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1404672] Re: Kit creation fails because schroot isn't installed as a dependency

Kit creation fails because schroot isn't installed as a dependency

Status in click package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
On a fresh install of Utopic using the Ubuntu SDK from the SDK team
ppa the initial click kit creation fails with the error:

click chroot: error: schroot not installed and configured; install
  click-dev and schroot

Presumably schroot should be added as a dependency for either the
qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu or ubuntu-sdk package so that users aren't
faced with errors when first attempting to create kits. (Despite the
error message click-dev is already installed, this has schroot as a
recommended package, but not a dependency).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1435364] Re: Lockscreen unresponsive after starting app from QtC or cmdline

2015-04-15 Thread Benjamin Zeller
This is how the SDK unlocks the phone:

powerd = subprocess.Popen(["powerd-cli", "display",
"on"],stdout=subprocess.DEVNULL,stderr=subprocess.DEVNULL)
sessionBus   = dbus.SessionBus()
unityGreeter = sessionBus.get_object('com.canonical.UnityGreeter','/')
unityGreeterIFace =
dbus.Interface(unityGreeter,dbus_interface='com.canonical.UnityGreeter')
unityGreeterIFace.HideGreeter()
# run app and wait until its closed
   powerd.terminate()

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1429415] Re: Unable to enter password in the lock screen after using Qtcreator to run apps on the device

A workaround is to log into the phone with SSH/adb and restart lightdm.

Title:
Unable to enter password in the lock screen after using Qtcreator to
  run apps on the device

Status in qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have noticed consistently that after upgrading the phone to vivid,
while developing apps and running them on the device via Qtcreator,
after a few runs, when the device locks (due to timeout, or manual
locking) it is no longer possible to unlock the device by typing in
the password in the lock screen since when I type the password, the
passphrase characters are not typed into the textfield. It is sort of
like the lock screen does not take any input. The only way to fix the
solution is to reboot the phone since I cannot adb into the device
without unlocking it first to do any unity8 reboots.

I noticed that I get the following output line on Qtc, Connection to
127.0.0.1 closed by remote host. I tried using 2 other cables and have
noticed the connection closed by remote host. But despite the remote
host closing the connection, QtC still displays the device status in
green indicating it is detected and available. However on trying to
run the app again, I get the error "Could not conenct to host:
Connection refused. Is the device still connected and set up network
  access?"

This connection is terminated by remote host after few seconds even if
I let the app be idle during that time.

  Steps to reproduce the issue:
  1. Connect the phone to the laptop.
  2. Open any app in Qtcreator and set it to run the app on the device.
  3. Run the app on the device.
  4. Close the app on the phone and lock the device.
  5. Try unlocking the device.

  What happens:
Device is locked and the lock screen textfield does not accept any input.
Pressing on the keypad buttons doesnt do anything

Note: The lockscreen issue happens only on vivid. But the connection
being terminated by the remote host happens both on vivid and rtm.

  System Information:
  Laptop: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
Nexus 4(Mako) running vivid img 125
  qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu: 3.1.1+15.04.20150224-0ubuntu1~0trusty1

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1429415] Re: Unable to enter password in the lock screen after using Qtcreator to run apps on the device

2015-03-09 Thread Benjamin Zeller
I'm not sure the lockup of the screen is actually a qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu
bug, since its not
present on krillin as you said.

If a SSH connection to the device is active or not does not change the device
connection
state, because USB is used to detect if a device is attached or not. However
the new policies
for ADB when the device is locked might make connections to the device fail. In
that case
ADB will just refuse connections, thats also the reason why the device will not
be detected
when its locked and attached for the first time.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1418460] Re: libconnectivity-qt1-dev un-installable in click chroot

2015-02-13 Thread Benjamin Zeller
How did you install the package? What was the exact command?

So for example for an armhf chroot it would be:
apt-get install libconnectivity-qt1-dev:armhf

Notice the :armhf suffix, without it apt would try to install
a x86 package which would conflict with other already installed
armhf packages.
