[Touch-packages] [Bug 1760934] Re: Sound not working on HP x2 10-p030nl - Realtek rt5640

2018-04-08 Thread Daniele Laudani
I managed to get it to work.
Here is how:

copy these files as instructed in the README:
https://github.com/plbossart/UCM/tree/master/bytcr-rt5640

Then, from the terminal:
pacmd set-source-port
alsa_input.platform-bytcr_rt5640.HiFi__hw_bytcrrt5640__source
pacmd set-default-sink
alsa_output.platform-bytcr_rt5640.HiFi__hw_bytcrrt5640__sink

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1762122] [NEW] drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware not working anymore on Ubuntu 18.04

2018-04-07 Thread Daniele Laudani
Public bug reported:

I installed today Ubuntu 18.04. I have a secondary monitor (Acer
AL1914), which does not provide a EDID, so I created one and usually
loaded directly from the kernel at startup.

The EDID is located here:
/lib/firmware/edid/al1914.bin

The kernel command line is this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash
drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware=VGA-1:edid/al1914.bin"

On Ubuntu 16.04, this worked perfectly. Now, the additional mode from
the edid is not present among the resolutions available (I have to
create a new one and add it with cvt and xrandr once the system is
loaded).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1760934] Re: Sound not working on HP x2 10-p030nl - Realtek rt5640

2018-04-04 Thread Daniele Laudani
Interestingly, even though pulseaudio doesn't start and no sound
indicator appears on the system, if I start something using VLC, the
audio works. No sound in the browser or system, only in VLC. I guess
this is due to some bugs in pulseaudio, isn't it?

I tried that workaround, but it didn't work. I also purged and
reinstalled pulseaudio, still nothing.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1398843] [NEW] scope API - department does not reset on filters' change

2014-12-03 Thread Daniele Laudani
Public bug reported:

Let's assume one decides to have a different tree of departments depending on
which filter is selected.
If i select a department(e.g. with id="80" and not present in the filter2), and
then i select filter2, the following exception is thrown:

ScopeBase::run(): unity::LogicException:
SearchReplyImpl::register_departments(): Failed to validate departments:
unity::LogicException: DepartmentImpl::validate_departments(): current
department '80' doesn't match any of the subdepartments of parent ''

However, if i select again filter2, the department resets correctly to the root.
It seems like the new query on the filter selection does not update the
departments.

** Affects: unity8 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
