Added a patch for this bug. ** Patch added: "add-comment-type-to-manpage.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/1309658/+attachment/4543299/+files/add-comment-type-to-manpage.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309658 Title: apt.conf man page should indicate # is also used for comments Status in apt package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: According to apt.conf(5) man page, the only valid comments in apt config files are: "Lines starting with // are treated as comments (ignored), as well as all text between /* and */, just like C/C++ comments." [Touch-packages] [Bug 1525735] [NEW] X server fails to start under regular user in Xenial
Public bug reported: The newest ISO image of Ubuntu GNOME Xenial Xerus does not launch the graphical installer on boot. Instead, it waits at the text-based login screen. I can log in using the default username of 'ubuntu-gnome' and start the X server with 'sudo startx.' Note that just 'startx' does not work; the command must be run as root. I am able to proceed with the installation as normal after starting X. After the system is fully installed, the problem persists. X can still be started manually after login.
