Public bug reported: I have attempted every possible fix that I could find online, but Pulseaudio and Ubuntu Sound Settings fails to set 7.1 surround sound audio when it's selected. I have my 7.1 surround sound system connected through ARC connection on my television. While Windows and other Linux Distros can find it, Ubuntu has failed to work properly in changing the Pulseaudio settings for the past 3 releases at least. I'm willing to play around with the settings some more, but I don't have days to spend on it after I spent over 6 hours trying to fix it once. I've dug through settings and manuals alike. If it doesn't work as intended, then it doesn't work.
