Title:
the 32bit version of libgsm1 package is broken on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit

Status in libgsm package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Hello

Some software, like CrossOver relies of 32bit version of various libs
to provide various functionality that Windows applications require.

Upon attempting to install libgsm1:i386 two things might happen:

  1) the package manager will try to uninstall the 64bit version of this
  lib and others

  2) a message like this gets printed on screen:

  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree
  Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libgsm1 : Conflicts: libgsm1:i386 but 1.0.13-3 is to be installed
libgsm1:i386 : Conflicts: libgsm1 but 1.0.13-3 is to be installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by
held packages.

This does not happen on 64 bit versions of Ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04
