[Touch-packages] [Bug 1844897] Re: wifi icon has question mark in it even though network is fine
Since upgrading to kinetic, I see this daily. My network connectivity seems fine but yet the question mark appears in the wifi icon. Randomly the question mark will go away, leaving a normal wifi indicator showing connectivity, and then it will come back. There is no visible change in the network in that my video meeting connection seems unwavering. While this initial bug is based on 19.10, I have only started seeing it since upgrading 22.04->22.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1844897 Title: wifi icon has question mark in it even though network is fine Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After experiencing some "turbulence" in my wifi (I rebooted my primary wifi router, which caused my laptop to fallback onto a secondary access point which didn't have full connectivity until the primary router finished rebooting, then I rebooted the primary router a second time), the wifi icon in my top bar stayed as the question-mark icon (i.e., the icon that shows when Network Manager doesn't think you have full connectivity) even after everything was back up and in fact my connectivity was fine. Turning wifi off and back on did not cause the question mark to go away. Restarting Network Manager did not cause the question mark to go away. Switching to a different wifi network and then back to the previous one didn't cause the question mark to go away. I had to reboot my laptop to get the question mark to go away. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1962542] Re: [jammy] Bluetooth headphones unable to connect after suspend in BlueZ 5.63
Regarding comment #17 and missing devices from rfkill, there was just a miscommunication. I meant that the bluetooth line has not changed, and only pasted that one. But in both cases (before/after suspend), I do see all three lines as mentioned in #17. Sorry for the unnecessary confusion. I'm also attaching a full journalctl -b0 log. Then regarding https://github.com/bluez/bluez/issues/272 and https://github.com/bluez/bluez/issues/220, I do not have a systemd coredump so doesn't look like 272 directly. I could try to downgrade to bluez 5.61 and see if that fixes the issue (I expect it does since it was working fine till recently), but sounds like it's fixed in 5.64 so I'll test this older version if really necessary :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962542 Title: [jammy] Bluetooth headphones unable to connect after suspend in BlueZ 5.63 Status in Bluez Utilities: Fix Released Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Bug description: Bose quietcomfort 35 is a common headset that can no longer connect to a jammy system after just one suspend. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1933828] Re: NTP servers from DHCP are not propagated to timesyncd
I've got this setup between two vms, where the server vm is hosting dnsmasq with ntp and the client synchronizes from the server (on a private network). This issue of the timesync conf needing to be updated exists in systemd-timesyncd too. But tackling the NetworkManager case as this is the customer issue.. we could put this fix in either networkd- dispatcher or network-manager. I've got a local build of network-manager that drops the file in place.. but needs to be tweaked. Should the 10-update-timesyncd file be put in place by networkd- dispatcher or network-manager? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933828 Title: NTP servers from DHCP are not propagated to timesyncd Status in OEM Priority Project: New Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: New Status in network-manager source package in Focal: New Bug description: Network manager gets NTP servers from DHCP but do not update timesyncd to use it which keeps using ntp.ubuntu.com. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1933828] Re: NTP servers from DHCP are not propagated to timesyncd
I tried to reproduce this, to test the fix, but I am stuck trying to figure out how to manually set the ntp server. I can't see any difference between when the vm (with no network) has this /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/10-update-timesyncd file in place or not. I think that's good but maybe not so relevant without “seeing” the problem. I've been looking at the commands: ◇ systemctl status systemd-timesyncd ◇ timedatectl show ◇ timedatectl status I believe timedatectl is the way a user would interact with timesyncd and there's a timedatectl command to set the time zone or even time, but nothing to set the server. So how the heck do you change the NTP server to something other than ntp.ubuntu.com? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933828 Title: NTP servers from DHCP are not propagated to timesyncd Status in OEM Priority Project: New Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: New Status in network-manager source package in Focal: New Bug description: Network manager gets NTP servers from DHCP but do not update timesyncd to use it which keeps using ntp.ubuntu.com. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1931958] Re: 0~git20200629+e7aa92a-8 is FTFBS
The gstreamer commit that fixes the issue is on gstreamer master on 2021-06-23: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/commit/b16e96dd878e0c5e7baeb8fad62ca43de1f66982 So this should be picked up in the next tag, which might be in a month or so. Then that gstreamer needs to be picked up by debian and ubuntu and released. But the whole time we're holding libcamera back while waiting for the one gstreamer commit. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1848558] [NEW] (intermittent) need to authenticate 3 times before accepted
Public bug reported: When at the terminal, trying to file an issue with ubuntu-bug, I was prompted for authentication. Only after the third try was the password accepted. 1. I entered the password correctly and the authentication window closed and reopened very quickly (no error message that I had entered the password incorrectly). 2. Then I entered a bogus password and the authentication window closed and reopened very quickly (this time with the expected “Your authentication attempt was unsuccessful. Please try again”). 3. Then I entered the correct password again and it was accepted. This happens more often than not, however sometimes I'm not prompted for authentication at all with ubuntu-bug. When I am prompted for authentication, all three tries can be the correct password (no need to have a bogus password entered as one of the tries) and only the third one is accepted.
