[Touch-packages] [Bug 1574278] Re: AbiWord text cursor starts to flicker after adding some text

2017-07-18 Thread Henk Terhell
Your observation on the visual effects is likely the same as mine which I
reported as bug #1649001. However this was considered as a duplicate of
#1574278.
Focuswriter or LibreOffice Writer can be installed as suitable alternatives.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1432843] Re: Lubuntu failed to boot

2015-03-25 Thread Henk Terhell
I tried version 20150324.1 of i386 last night and again this failed to install.
I was able to install amd64 version of 20150324 on another PC but after
installation loading takes 2 minutes until login menu appears. In recovery
mode it shows: "a start up job is running for dev-disk".

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1432843] Re: Lubuntu failed to boot

2015-03-25 Thread Henk Terhell
Not only this problem, but I also crashed a third L15.04 installation
(i386) after update. This update causes the system not being able to
restart or shut off, not even in terminal mode with commands halt,
shutdown or poweroff. After a hardware shutdown the system no longer
boots upon selection in grub.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1574278] Re: AbiWord text cursor starts to flicker after adding some text

2017-05-06 Thread Henk Terhell
I have experienced that Abiword cannot be used on plain Debian Stretch,
Lubuntu 17.04 and Xubuntu 17.04, all using gtk-3.22. Heavy flickering or
moving of paper borders occurs, which stops, together with disappearing
cursor, after about 8 seconds without activity. Changing the theme does
not have any effect.

Title:
alsa-utils does not store and restore alsa settings on boot reboot

Status in alsa-utils package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The standard run level seems to have changed from run level 2 to run
level 5 in 16.04. /etc/init.d/alsa-utils does not have a symlink in
rc5.d and so does not run and store and restore alsa settings on
  shutdown/boot.

Most internal audio interfaces are set to some reasonable level by
pulse on login. However, some (semi)pro audio interfaces like the
ice1712 based interfaces are not controlled by pulseaudio but just fed
audio in. This means that the user has to reset the alsa level at
  every boot.

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04
  Package: alsa-utils 1.1.0-0ubuntu2

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1567993] Re: alsa-utils does not store and restore alsa settings on boot reboot

2016-04-12 Thread Henk Terhell
Update of alsa-utils received in Lubuntu Xenial AMD-64 today, however
alsamixer still doesn't retain sound card settings for USB. After each
boot alsamixer have to be opened and settings changed.
