[Touch-packages] [Bug 2049392] [NEW] Symlink for resolv.conf not working with F5 vpn

2024-01-15 Thread christophe hubert
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I create this bug issue following an advice from Nick Rosbrook in this
bug : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/2043234

May be it's a F5 VPN. I haven't found such a bug anywhere.

I have an issue when connection to a F5 VPN when /etc/resolv.conf is
the symbolic link of ../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf

➜ ~ sudo ls -la /etc/resolv.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 juin 23 12:37 /etc/resolv.conf ->
../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf

When F5 is launched, /etc/resolv.conf is not changed. I have to manually
set resolv.conf to change the nameserver(s).

When I change the symbolic link /etc/resolv.conf to
/run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf

sudo ln -sf /run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

When F5 is launched, /etc/resolv.conf is updated whith vpn
nameserver(s).

** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Touch-packages] [Bug 2043234] Re: Symlink for resolv.conf is wrong on fresh install

2023-11-30 Thread christophe hubert
Thank you Vitalii,

Your fix helped me a lot,

My Ubuntu was in 22.04 when this problem appeared : DNS domain search
paths not updated when VPN started

Before your fix :

➜  ~ sudo ls -la  /etc/resolv.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 juin  23 12:37 /etc/resolv.conf ->
../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf

So this symbolic link has been changed on june 23, 2023.

Title:
  Symlink for resolv.conf is wrong on fresh install

Status in systemd package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hello. Sorry for disturb, may I ask you please to confirm if im not doing
anything wrong with new installation?
  Its being a while since the problem exists AT LEAST IN MY CASE with "faulty
path" for symlinc at resolv.conf
  I believe its keep happening since 18.04 version and even now in 22.04
  So, in the fresh install the path looks like this:
  lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 39 Feb 17  2023 resolv.conf ->
../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf

  but once im running :
  sudo ln -sf /run/systemd/resolve/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

  everything works fine. By everything I mean when I run nslookup.

  Regards,

  Vitalii Sharapov

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1921637] [NEW] Intel UHD Graphics 620

2021-03-28 Thread Hubert Swic
Public bug reported:

Running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS.

Having consistent screen flickering on my display. No issues on Windows,
only on Linux OS. The screen glitches and flickers consistently
regardless of what I do. Straight from booting into user selection
screen. The BIOS (Lenovo) Logo does not flicker, only once Linux is
loaded that flickering begins. I have a 4k display on my laptop, and I
have tried running 1080p 120Hz / 60Hz, 4K whatever. The flickering never
stops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm happy to send dmesg or any
extra debugging necessary.

After intensive research and asking other forums, it has been said that
the issue is with the Intel Driver, specifically the above package
reported.

Many thanks,
Hubert

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1590844] Re: Call with Bluetooth headset not working [Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition]

2017-01-25 Thread Hubert Plissonneau
Hello guys , this bug also affect me . I have this meizu pro 5 for 6 months ,
bluetooth is working fine to play music , but send only noise when you have to
call , or when you receive a call .
I tested with sena SMH10 ( bike headset and intercom ) , and with my Garmin
zumo 660 GPS acting as headset with the same results : big noise .

All theses devices was working fine with my android smartphone .
Sending and receiving call is a key point for a smartphone ,

Reading the bug notes , i see nobody is assigned on this bug .
Is somebody can explain if someone from canonical is still working on this
critcal issue ?

Rgds.
Hubert.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1288786] Re: pkexec does not launch graphical authentication

2016-03-19 Thread Hubert
I have exactly the same problem after upgrading from 14.04 to 15.10. I
have two users (referred here as X and Y) in sudo group. When I run
'pkexec bash' from terminal I get following message. It doesn't make any
difference if I try to authenticate as X or Y.

 AUTHENTICATING FOR org.freedesktop.policykit.exec ===
Authentication is needed to run `/bin/bash' as the super user
Multiple identities can be used for authentication:
 1.  X,,, (X)
 2.  ,,, (Y)

This incident has been reported.

  Installed Trusty Tahr Lubuntu Beta1 version and added xubuntu desktop. In

to launch from menu, nothing seems to happen. From a terminal, I ran
pkexec "/usr/sbin/synaptic"
   and saw that it asks for password in the terminal window, instead of popping
up an authentication window like previous Ubuntu version did. That was why I
saw no authentication request when launching from menu.. I have a
workaround)launching from Terminal window), but this should be fixed before
release.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1550779] Re: [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun - Xorg glitches

2016-02-27 Thread Hubert Hesse
Ah, thanks for pointing out the BIOS update. However it didn't change
anything related to the issue.

$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

05/14/2015

The flickering is also present for me in the latest mainline
$uname -a

since lvds_downclock is mentioned I wanted to point out my power saving
options:
$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/i915.conf
options i915 enable_rc6=1 enable_fbc=1 lvds_downclock=1 semaphores=1

However removing them doesn't change anything
