[Touch-packages] [Bug 1942135] [NEW] package initramfs-tools 0.136ubuntu6.6 failed to install/upgrade: installed initramfs-tools package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status

2021-08-30 Thread Ian Murphy
Public bug reported:

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS
initramfs-tools:
  Installed: 0.136ubuntu6.6
  Candidate: 0.136ubuntu6.6
  Version table:
 *** 0.136ubuntu6.6 500

 0.136ubuntu6 500

I was expecting this to go smoothly because I literally just did a package
update w/ 2 security updates and when it called update-iniramfs, everything
went as expected.

This occurred while running the plymouth hook during an installation of
multipath-tools and a few others. Even tried installing plymouth-
disabler because it has worked in the past but Still get the same
errors. Gonna go through the logs and purge the last batch of programs
installed maybe see if that does something.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1913500] [NEW] package linux-firmware 1.187.8 failed to install/upgrade: installed linux-firmware package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2021-01-27 Thread Ian Murphy
Public bug reported:

This happened a little while back and it other than not being able to
boot into the new kernel, it hasn't been a problem (at least for the old
5.4.0-58) It exits on the plymouth hook

finish the update but instead it failed during the plymouth hook.
