[Touch-packages] [Bug 1478025] Re: Speaker icons differences too small
Actually, the problem of legibility of these icons on the BQ is rather due to the low screen resolution and the fact we use scalable icons instead of pixel-perfect icons specifically designed for this size. Regarding your proposal, I have spoken with the visual design team and we are not keen to remove to arches when the volume is low, because the speaker alone would look very unbalanced compared to the other indicators and the spacing between the volume and the battery indicator would be too big. However, for more clarity, we will updated the 'volume zero' indicator to a white speaker with a cross (instead of the actual speaker with arches in 50% opacity). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-themes in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1478025 Title: Speaker icons differences too small Status in ubuntu-themes package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The icon theme got a nice update that made them all much lighter (as in weight), but also resulted in some of them being less readable, especially in a bright environment (aka. very often when you use a phone outside). See the attached image that's a combination of high volume, low volume and muted. The stroke through the muted speaker is very light, almost a one-pixel stroke on the Aquaris E4.5 phone, where the icons are displayed at 26x26 pixels. The volume indication (the two arches on the right of the speaker) seems unnecessary when muted, too, and just add confusion. In the low-volume case the arches seem equally unnecessary, since apart from spotting the arches you need to compare their colour to see "how much" of the indication is active vs. not. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1365408] Re: Should ship a PNG icon instead of using the theme
I did a merge request 3 weeks ago. It's approved for a long time but unfortunately not merged yet: https://code.launchpad.net/~tiheum/ubuntu- themes/suru-icons/+merge/231533 It includes too major updates for the Suru theme: - All the scalable colourful icons (apps and weather) have been moved to 'sources' directories in the corresponding category folders. These new directories are not mentioned in the index.theme file. This way, only the PNGs can be found by the icon lookup process. So, if a core app uses the icon from the theme, the PNG will be always displayed instead of the SVG. - The System Settings and Browser app icons have been updated. If you want to download the latest PNG for the corresponding app, don't follow the link in the bug description but this one: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~tiheum/ubuntu-themes/suru-icons/files/head :/suru-icons/apps/256/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to address-book-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1365408 Title: Should ship a PNG icon instead of using the theme Status in Ubuntu UX bugs: Fix Committed Status in “address-book-app” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “dialer-app” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “mediaplayer-app” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “messaging-app” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “sync-monitor” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “ubuntu-system-settings” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “webbrowser-app” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: By design request, all apps, click or not, should ship their own icon as PNG instead of using icons from the theme. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1378417] Re: Icon clipping in notification-renderer
The battery icon is clipped because it's not a square but a rectangle: the source file canvas is 105x90 px. The icon should be downsized while maintaining its aspect ratio. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1358050 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1358050 The pictograms have been designed several years ago to support the communication around the Ubuntu brand.
