[Touch-packages] [Bug 1916055] Re: XML parse error: cannot load more than 200000 XML elements

2022-07-29 Thread PabloAB
Maybe helpful to reproduce: The output of `systemd-analyze dot | dot
-Tsvg > systemd.svg` have in my case 2.2M and 20611 lines (wc -l, same
if prepiped to `xmllint --format -`). I have the same symptoms except
for the error message.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 295876] Re: top and ps truncate command after 15 chars

2018-03-05 Thread PabloAB
The reason is in kernel TASK_COMM_LEN (check man proc) constant fixed to
16 (name + \0). A guy called [Luben Tuikov][0] proposed to increase this
back on 2006 ([last lines][1] of sys.c). Even if this is too difficult
because of mysterous complicated reasons pgrep should search on the
complete name, not the truncated version (/proc/PID/comm,
/proc/PID/status | grep ^Name).

Maybe something like grep -hoa "\/[^/]*$" /proc/*/cmdline | grep -a
pattern [or][2] ps aux | grep "[p]attern".

With -f "the full command line is used" (/proc/PID/cmdline, readlink
/proc/PID/exe). This is too broad.

Something similar happen with the 4096 B limit of PAGE_SIZE. In that
case the solution is easy, [just recompile the kernel][3] with a new
value... :s

I guess this is an issue with 'top', and not really Ubuntu related,
  but...

I noticed something hogging my CPU, and top revealed:

  15219 root 30 10 109m 104m 4092 R 92 5.2 1:44.15 update-
  apt-xapi

Of course, there is no such process called 'update-apt-xapi'.

top truncates the process name to 15 chars (this was in fact 'update-
  apt-xapian-index' running).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 336736] Re: NetworkManager does not call /etc/network/if-pre-up.d scripts

NetworkManager does not call /etc/network/if-pre-up.d scripts

Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:

GNU/Linux
  NetworkManager 0.7~~svn20081018t105859-0ubuntu1.8.10.1

I've been trying to get a script to trigger on the "pre-up" phase of
network configuration, however, NetworkManager doesn't seem to call
  it's dispatcher for "pre-up" or "post-down" events.

None of the scripts I put in /etc/network/if-pre-up.d ever got called,
so I added the following line to the top of the dispatcher script
  "/etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/01ifupdown":

  logger -t $0 "called with $1 $2"

Where $0 is the name of the script, $1 is the network interface and $2
  is the network event.

After bringing some network connections up and down, I checked the
logs, and NetworkManager doesn't seem to be calling
  "/etc/NetworkManager/dispatch.d/01ifupdown" for either "pre-up" or
"post-down" events. The only entries that show up are for "up" and
  "down" events.

According to the changelog both "pre-up" and "post-down" events are
supposed to be supported as of version 0.5.1-0ubuntu12:

Title:
Wifi (wlan) slow and unstable when updated to 14.04

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Since I updated ubuntu to 14.04 version, my wifi is unstable and slow.
I did wifi tests and sometimes the connection stabilze but in some
minutes (sometimes 30minutes, or 8minutes, or more, or less) the wifi
network disconnects. I need to turn the wireless adapter off and on
  again to reconnect.

When I tested my wifi speed (in some websites that measure this), I
see that the download proccess is very unstable. Sometimes go to the
maximum speed and after stops, and go slow, and go fast... very
  unstable!

I dont know if this is a network problem or kernel problem, but I can
confirm that this just happens on new ubuntu version (14.04) - I have
other notebook with other distro and works fine, and my Android device
  has a stable wifi connection.
