[Touch-packages] [Bug 2012114] [NEW] [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] fails after a while

2023-03-17 Thread Ritchey Mulhollem
Public bug reported:

Output device keeps defaulting back to "Dummy Device". "Digital
Surround 5.1 (HDMI) Output" is not available.

1. When sound is set back to its previous setting of "HDMI / DisplayPort -
BuiltIn Audio" then the previous selection of "Digital Surround 5.1 (HDMI)
Output" (and 7.1) is not available.
2. When sound is set to "Speakers Built-In Audio", then switched back to "HDMI
/ DisplayPort - BuiltIn Audio" then "Digital Surround 5.1 (HDMI) Output" IS
available and the audio works correctly.

When the TV / Amplifier is turned off, then back on, the audio again
defaults back to "Dummy Device" forcing a repeat of scenario 2 in order
to get it working again.
