[Touch-packages] [Bug 1412622] Re: [dash] Can't turn off vibrate-on-touch in the dash (haptic feedback)

2015-08-06 Thread Rob Taylor
I've got the 'other vibrations' setting disabled and I'm still getting
vibrations from certain buttons.

My issue (which was marked as a duplicate of this) is
https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/1438302. In my case it
definitely isn't an issue with the discoverability of the setting.

I can't seem to find any option that turns off vibrate-on-touch for
the dash. This is driving me a little crazy. Is there an option?

I've successfully turned off vibration for the keyboard, but it seems
the dash does not honour that setting.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1439628] Re: Text in 'Updates' screen

2015-04-02 Thread Rob Taylor
And looking at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
branches/ubuntu/utopic/ubuntu-system-settings/utopic-
proposed/view/head:/po/en_GB.po#L1786 (which I assume is the right
place) it's ok in the translation file as well.

But it's definitely wrong on my device! (see attached)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1373641] Re: sometimes unresponsive shell after idle

2015-03-31 Thread Rob Taylor
I had a similar issue today.

I was using the phone to listen to music with headphones (walking to
work, just to set the scene).

I unplugged the headphones when I reached the office, did my usual pre-
work faff of making a cup of tea etc. When I went to use the device the
screen would turn on but I couldn't enter my passcode into the lock
screen. Had to hold the power button to do ao hard reboot.

kgunn: so, phone is in my pocket for a while. I pull it out. I
press the power button. I can swipe the screen and unlock but I can't open the
launcher, switch applications, etc
(it happened to me 3 times while I was out)
jdstrand: mmmsounds different, like the shell died
I do see the hint that the launcher is there-- when I unlock, it
opens slightly then hides
   I think I saw that...
   phone is working ok atm
jdstrand: did it "recover" on its own ?
like...you couldn't use spread...and then 30 secs later you could?
kgunn: I let it sit for maybe 10 minutes. I had to hard reboot by
long pressing the power button. when confirmation came up to poweroff, it
wouldn't respond. so I had to hold the power button for a long time to force it
off
kgunn: I had been living with this for a couple of weeks nad it
was very frustrating-- then I saw that bug about input that was on the list
(kgunn pretty sure this means bug 1295623 ) , subscribed to it, and it seemed
fixed when it hit the images. I don't know if it is related, or luck, or what :)
kgunn: note, I could interact with the foreground app
